The Amazing Spider-Man

I've never seen this version of the Wall-Crawler, which aired on TV back in the 1970s. Peter Parker/Spider-Man is played by Nicholas Hammond, who looks a little older than what a college student should be, but he's not bad.

Although the bad guy here uses mind control, there are no super villains from the Spider-Man rogues gallery; Spidey takes on regular crooks--sort of like the George Reeves TV version of Superman had him dealing with regular gangsters. It's a shame because Spider-Man has some cool villains in the comics (most of whom were used in the recent movies), but I guess they didn't have the budget back then.

Harvey

I usually try to keep current events off of this blog in an attempt to create a sanctuary of sorts from the more sordid news stories that keep hammering us in the media. However, given the heart-breaking situation in Texas, which is suffering from some of the worst flooding they've seen in ages, I wanted to extend my thoughts and prayers to the people there who are struggling with this devastating calamity.

But while thoughts and prayers are nice, these folks could use some real help. You can help them by making a donation through the Red Cross. If you wish to do so, just visit the link right here.

Straight talk from the horn-rimmed man

One of my favorite scenes is from the first season of Heroes (remember back when this show was actually good?) in the tenth episode, titled "Six Months Ago". Nora Zehetner appears here as a woman who can manipulate people into doing whatever she wants them to do with her voice.

It's a short scene, lasting about thirty seconds at most, but Nora is barefoot and dressed in prison garb while chained up and gagged. Once the horned-rimmed man takes off her gag, Nora's character tries to get him to free her, but her powers are being neutralized by a second mutant in the room. It's a nice little scene that shows how her character had been recruited into hunting others like herself, people with superpowers.

Unrequited Guilt

This is a short but well-done film about a young barefoot woman being held in captivity. The filmmakers try to go for a deeper meaning here, but the film still works very well either way.

This and that

I got another new Poser picture up on the Deviant Art Page. In case you're wondering if I had done this already, yes, I did. In fact, the post preceding this one was when I gave the news about my babysitter in bondage picture.

And finally--last but not least--I'd like to announce that the latest Ryta The Jungle Girl book has been started by me. If this was a movie I'd say filming has begun. I'm looking to get this new book done by this coming December, if not sooner. As always, I'll keep you posted here.

Jogging might be bad for you

Lila Pearsall takes a break during her jog by a picnic table, where she meets a strange man who turns out to be...strange. Soon she finds herself bound and gagged in his lair, with her shoes and socks having been removed.

Lila sees a sharp object with which she can cut herself free, and starts bashing her bound feet against the box upon which the sharp device rests. The scene itself is short, which is probably why the clipper (it wasn't me) let the capture scene run for a bit. The name of the film is Citrus Springs.
