The 60th anniversary of Star Trek was a few days ago--not that you'd know it, thanks to it being practically ignored by the current regime that owns the franchise. Most of the 60th anniversary celebrations have been done by fans, like the effects guys here who have re-worked the opening of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, where the Klingon battlecruisers meet the omnipotent V'ger. It's complete with new effects, and it's very nicely done. Live long and prosper.
