Ryta...and Sheena

I've started working on another Ryta the Jungle Girl story. And unlike the recent Morenci & Lynn, which took place in Ryta's universe--without Ryta--this next story will have Ryta and the regular cast back in action.

I am also planning a sequel to M&L, because the more the merrier. I enjoyed writing that one, and would like to see more adventures of Morenci & Lynn. But I actually miss Ryta, and am glad to be back writing her again.

I thought showing screen grabs of Tanya Roberts as Sheena would be good for this upcoming book announcement.

Despite its flaws, I always liked the Sheena movie. Tanya looked just like how I would imagine Sheena would be, and she really gave the part her all.

Tanya went barefoot throughout the whole film, and was even chained up at one point.

I'll keep you updated on the progress of the latest Ryta book, and will alert you as to exactly when it comes out.

Back To The Jungles

Would you believe Sheena, the movie starring Tanya Roberts, is forty years old this year?

It's a great BF flick, with Roberts going sans shoes througout.

There's also some bondage--she gets chained up at one point.

But evenn while chained, Sheen's still as defiant as ever, just like another Jungle Queen, my character Ryta.

Now that my superhero book, Black Mantis, is done, my thoughts are turning back to the deep jungles where Ryta and her friends dwell.

I've already been making notes on the storyline, and the writing has begun on Ryta's next adventure. I'm aiming for a mid to late Fall release. Keep it here, and I'll keep you updated.

The Ryta Section

I have a page on this blog devoted to my Ryta the Jungle Girl books. It displays all of the books published to date, with links leading to where to get them. I've just updated this list with the most recent Ryta book, and I fixed several of the links that weren't working. I also added a new Ryta Poser picture there.

So, if you should have some free time this upcoming holiday week, and need something to read, might I humbly suggest a Ryta the Jungle Girl book? You can see the list right here.

Note: the Ryta picture above is original, and hasn't been used as a cover in any of the books. Ryta's next adventure is coming soon.

Ryta Captured!

Ryta the Jungle Girl has been captured! She's been brought to a hut, where her captors have tied her up hand and foot and gagged her. And then the leader has the gall to gloat over Ryta!

In honor of the latest Ryta the Jungle Girl book that's just been published, I created an entirely new Poser picture of my jungle heroine in bound danger, which you can see right here.

Ryta the Jungle Girl Is Back

Ryta thought that Malek, her old enemy, was finally dead. And why shouldn't she think this? After all, Ryta had killed the bastard herself.

But somehow, someway, Malek had returned. And he had set a deadly trap for Ryta. And now Ryta is faced with once again squaring off against a deadly opponent. But this time, Ryta is faced with the hard question of how do you kill someone who can't be killed?

The latest Ryta book, Ryta the Jungle Girl and the Wrath of Malek, is now out and available on the Kindle. You can pick up your copy right here.

Ryta is back!

In her latest book, Ryta the Jungle Girl and the Horrors of Mirkwood Manor, Ryta and her lover Lacey decide to take a day off and explore the marketplace at Kingsland. But unfortunately for them, danger never takes a day off.

Without warning, Ryta and Lacey find themselves being hunted through the streets and back alleys of Kingsland by a group of thugs. At the same time, Iona, Sarina, and the others aboard the Leviathan discover that someone has placed a bomb aboard their submarine.

And all while Ryta and her family are fighting for their very lives, they struggle to find out just who is this mysterious Lady Mirkwood, and why does she want them all dead?

Ryta the Jungle Girl and the Horrors of Mirkwood Manor, the very latest adventure featuring the indomitable jungle queen, is available right here.

The BF Women of Dune

I've already posted these pictures of a barefoot Daniela Amavia doing her workout from Children of Dune.

Children of Dune was the Sy-Fy Channel's adaptation of the sequel novels to Frank Herbert's Dune (Dune Messiah, Children of Dune). We never got a sequel to the David Lynch adaptation because it bombed in theaters.

While the Sy-Fy Channel's adaptation couldn't rise above its cheap budget, it was cool having Children of Dune be turned into a mini-series.

And it was also nice having this scene with Alia in the mini-series.

But in re-watching this over the weekend, I discovered a few more BF scenes here.

Like this 'blink and you'll miss it' scene with Susan Sarandon walking down a corridor with a barefoot servant girl walking by behind her.

And there's another brief moment when Ghanima Atreides (Jessica Brooks) is barefoot while playing chess with her twin brother Leto (James McAvoy).

I've also spent the weekend formatting the latest Ryta book, which has a title: Ryta the Jungle Girl and the Horrors of Mirkwood Manor. Look for it to be published later this week.

Ryta is on the way

Hello, need a hand? Will a foot suffice?

Here ya go.

I'm using these vidcaps from Sheena (1984), starring the late, great Tanya Roberts, to announce something: I'm working on the new Ryta The Jungle Girl Book.

I started writing it in December, and it's going very smoothly. I hope to have it done in April--at least that's the month I'm shooting for.

I really missed seeing Ryta, Lacey, and the whole gang aboard the Leviathan. Although I'm not sure how happy they are to see me, because I've been putting them through their paces so far in this new book.

The very first Ryta book can be found here. And the most recent book can be gotten (???) right here.

I'll keep you up to date on the status of the latest book.

Barefoot in Berlin

Hello. How are you? This was another post where I had linked to a YouTube video, only to have the video get taken down. This leaves me with a defunct link. So, instead, please enjoy this page from an old Jungle Girl comic.

Speaking of jungle girls, I'm working on the latest Ryta the Jungle Girl book right now (well, not right at this very instant, but you get the idea).

The Latest Ryta book is done

Just wanted to let you know that I've finished the first draft of the latest Ryta the Jungle Girl book: Ryta the Jungle Girl and the Sorcerer. I still have some rewriting/editing to do (as well as creating a cover), but the hard part of creating something out of nothing is done. I expect this latest addition to the Ryta saga to be ready by the July Fourth Weekend.

Keep it here for the latest news.

Ryta The Jungle Girl is on her way

Just wanted to let you know that I am still working on the latest Ryta the Jungle Girl book. The writing is going extremely well, and I plan to have it ready by the end of this month.

I'd be lying if I said it had been easy writing during these fascinating and frightening times that we're all living through, but I kept at it--writing a little bit every day--and I slowly learned that living in Ryta's world has kept me calm enough to handle ours.

I've learned to not be ashamed to escape into a book, movie, or TV show every now and then. Just think of it as being a part of your self care.

I'll keep you posted on the details of the latest Ryta book right here.

White Cargo

This is Hedy Lamarr as Tondelayo from the 1942 film White Cargo. I've yet to actually see this one, so I don't know if Hedy is dressed like this all the time. But I think she wears the 'jungle girl' look very well in this picture.

Speaking of Jungle Girls, my latest Ryta the Jungle Girl adventure is plugging along nicely. I've worked out the main villain, and the writing's porceeding even more smoothly.

The latest Ryta book

I just started writing the new Ryta the Jungle Girl book. I just wrote the first scene. To celebrate the start of a new Ryta adventure, I thought I'd post some pictures of a bound, barefoot jungle girl: Shanna the She-Devil, created by writer Phillip Nicolas Seuling (under the name Carole Seuling) and penciler George Tuska.

My Ryta books have a barefoot jungle girl and her friends fighting for survival in a lost world filled with dinosaurs, ancient technology from Atlantis, and non-stop action and danger.

You can get the very first Ryta book right here.

And the very latest Ryta book, published just a few weeks ago, can be seen right here.

I'll keep you posted on the status of the latest book right here.

You can get your copy of Ryta the Jungle Girl and the Hunters of Pasha Tem right here.

Sheena 1984

I recently realized that this year is the 35th anniversary of the release of Sheena, starring former Charlie's Angel Tanya Roberts as the heroic jungle girl.

This was the first (and only) big budget jungle girl movie to be released in theaters (which was where I first saw it when it opened)>

I thought Tanya Roberts was picture perfect as Sheena. She looked just like I would imagine Sheena to be, and really gave the part her all.

She went barefoot throughout the whole film, and was even chained up at one point.

I've been working on the latest Ryta the Jungle Girl book, and re-watching Sheena has helped me to recharge during the writing.

The Latest Ryta book will be out next month (December 2019). I'll keep you updated on the progress and alert you as to exactly when the new Ryta book comes out. Happy 35th, Sheena!

From Rulah to Ryta

Rulah the jungle girl wakes up to find herself tied up--which is a predicament that my own jungle girl, Ryta, finds herself in a great deal of the time in her books. I'm busy working on the latest Ryta book right now, which offers more excitement and high adventure (and tie up scenes, plenty more tie up scenes).

The Ryta saga begins with her very first adventure, which you can get here.
