Super Pets

There's a movie out called DC's League of Super Pets, about how Superman's dog Krypto forms his own league of superheroic animals to save his master and the other superheroes when they're captured by hamsters. Yeah, that's the basic plot, and although it's played for laughs, it's still not a very good film.

This one scene, showing Wonder Woman getting tied up with her own lasso by the hamsters, made the movie worth it for me. Some very nice bondage, here. It's also very brief, a real 'blink and you miss it' moment, and it's the only time WW gets bound in the movie.

Wonda Woman

I had always assumed that, in the pilot for the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman series, that all the women on Paradise Island went barefoot.

I first saw this pilot back when I was a kid, when it first aired, and back then, we had no way of rewinding (or even recording) stuff on TV.

But when I re-watched the WW pilot recently, I saw that I was wrong. Diana was barefoot when she found Steve Trevor on the beach. And she was still BF when she reported to her mother. However, the rest of the Amazons wore shoes.

Oh well, at least we have some BF pictures of Diana.

Wonder Woman

As many of you know, a new Wonder Woman movie was released recently. Wonder Woman 1984 "opened" on HBO Max on Christmas Day (it was also in theaters).

And I had made a point of holding off on my annual "best of" movie list until I saw this. I was so excited to see it, and I figured that it *WILL* simply be great (in all fairness, I thought the first Wonder Woman film was fantastic, and assumed the second one would be just as good).

But while I really enjoyed watching a first-run feature in the comfort of my home, WW84 turned out to be a let down for me.

It's hard to put my finger on it, but the movie--while it had some great moments--was overall a big 'meh' for me.

WW84 wasn't a complete train wreck, but it lacked the mythic quality of the first movie, and to this end, I thought Cheetah--Wonder Woman's long-time arch enemy--should have been in the film a lot more than she was. In fact, Cheetah really should have been the dominant villain of WW84.

But I still love the character, and am glad to hear that a third WW film has been ordered. Gail Godot is very good in the lead role. The vidcaps in this post are actually from the BF battle scene in the 2009 Wonder Woman animated film (with Keri Russell doing the voice of WW). This animated Wonder Woman film is very good; you should check it out, if you haven't already done so.

Sneak peek at WW84

I was going to post my annual "best of" lists this weekend (best of TV/movies), until I realized that there were several things that are still coming out. In other words, the year ain't over yet.

Wonder Woman 84 is one of those things. It's being released in theaters and on HBO Max at the same time on Christmas Day. I plan on watching it on HBO Max (I'm still steering clear of the theaters in these pandemic days). They have released the opening scene of WW84 in a clip on YouTube that you can see above.

I'm looking forward to this one. My "Best Of" lists will be posted next weekend.

Meeting a fan

I've seen this picture before and always found it charming. It's not an original cover of the Saturday Evening Post, but a recent piece of art. I always liked the fact that Wonder Woman is barefoot. It clearly looks like the little girl caught up with her right at the end of an adventure and took advantage of this moment to meet with her hero.

The Batman and more DC

The DC FanDome was held online today, and we got a trailer for the Zack Snyder Cut of Justice League, which wasn't a surprise. But what was a surprise to me was the first trailer for The Batman, directed by Matt Reeves.  Hard to believe they got a trailer this good from a film that is still only twenty five percent shot.

In short, The Batman looks fantastic. It has a very welcome dark and gritty atmosphere, and Robert Pattinson looks great as both the Batman and Bruce Wayne. The beat-down scene in this trailer ended all doubt for me regarding this Batman. I like what I've seen of the new Catwoman, and I'm also really looking forward to seeing this film's take on the Riddler and Penguin.

And Zack Snyder's version of the Justice League also looks very good. I didn't care for the version of JL that was released to theaters in 2017, and I'm looking forward to seeing Snyder's original vision restored. This will be coming to HBO Max in 2021.

Criminal

This is Gail Godot (aka Wonder Woman) starring with Kevin Costner (aka Superman's dad) in the crime thriller Criminal. Godot gets tied up by Costner after she's awoken in bed. So she's bound barefoot, and there's even a nice moment where the still-tied Godot reaches for something with her foot.

I've already posted this scene once before, but this is an exceptionally clear copy--which I don't have--so I thought I would give you a heads up.

Snow Storm TV

My area is being blasted by a winter storm, with several feet of snow and ice, followed by flying monkeys, zombies, and a horde of French Poodles (trust me, it's a bad storm). So let's just stay indoors, make some mac and cheese, and watch Wonder Woman, shall we?

This clip is from the third season episode of WW called The Starships Are Coming. I did not clip this (I believe it was Sam, though I'm not sure). Lynda Carter is taken captive in her regular form as Diana Prince.

I realize she's not BF, but what I always loved about this scene is when Carter is being rescued by a guy who's something of a moron.

I simply LOVE the looks of exasperation on Carter's face when she tries to direct the guy's attention to the great big honking bomb that's on the table. The annoyed expression on her face in this scene is priceless.

Even if you're not being bombarded by snow (and flying monkeys) this is still fun to watch. You can download the clip right here.

Professor Marston & the Wonder Women

William Marston (Luke Evans) was a Harvard psychologist who was also the creator of Wonder Woman (he also created, with his wife, the life detector machine). This film is a biopic about his life, as well as that of his wife (Rebecca Hall) and their young lover, a female student (played by Bella Heathcote) who at first joins them as an assistant while she was still a college student.

Living as a threesome in the early part of the twentieth century was shocking enough, but Marston and his wives were also into bondage and playacting fantasies, (most of which found its way into the pages of the early Wonder Woman comics written by Marston).

The gist of this film is a drama concerning a trio of people in an unusual relationship who are trying to live their lives, but who keep brushing up against societal conventions seemingly at every turn. It's a very well done movie in this regard, but if you're thinking it might offer you lurid thrills, you'll be disappointed, as that's not its main point.

But as these screen captures show, there is one scene where Bella Heathcote is tied up by Rebecca Hall while Heathcote is dressed somewhat like Wonder Woman. It's a provocative scene that not only signifies the beginning of the bondage in their relationship, but also of the creation of Wonder Woman herself.

Professor Marston and the Wonder Women is highly recommended for comic book fans as well as those in the bondage community as being a heartfelt drama in its own right. For as Marston asks in the film, "What is normal?"

Wonder Woman kicks off her shoes

My love for the Gal Godot Wonder Woman film is well known. But I also love another version of WW that was released as an animated film back ten years ago.

Keri Russell (The Americans, Felicity) voices Wonder Woman, with Nathan Fillion (Mal from Firefly) voicing Steven Trevor.

At one point in the animated WW, she gets into a fight with a super-powered being. Since Wonder Woman was out on a date with Steve when trouble starts, she kicks off her heels and joins the battle barefoot.

Eventually she strips off the dress, revealing her WW outfit underneath. She doesn't spin around to change, like Linda Carter's WW did. The animated Wonder Woman has her outfit under her dress.

The battle's quite long, running about five minutes, and throughout it all Wonder Woman is barefoot.

And there are moments in the battle where it almost feels like it was "made for us" if you know what I mean.

This fight scene is very well done, very kinetic and fast-paced. The movie itself is superb, making this my third favorite version of this character, after Linda Carter and Gal Godot.

It's simply criminal

Gal Godot stars in Criminal as a young woman who's taken hostage in her own bed by a (wait for it) criminal.

She gets the idea to turn on her house alarm using her foot.

But what's really criminal is that Gadot, who also plays Wonder Woman, is so easily taken down like this by Kevin Costner, who also played Superman's adopted father, Pa Kent, in Man of Steel. Was Pa Kent exposed to red kryptonite, was that what made him evil? Shocking!

In any event, you can You can see/download it here.

My favorite moment from Wonder Woman

My favorite moment in Wonder Woman, the super fantastic movie starring Gail Godot as WW, comes at just around one hour and eighteen minutes into the film. It's deep into her battle with the soldiers when Wonder Woman stops to give one of them The Look.

It's this great, 'oh-no-you-don't' look that Godot pulls off very nicely, just before she attacks another soldier. I just got the Blu-Ray of Wonder Woman today, and one of the first things I did was to make a screen-grab of The Look, which you can see above. This is going to make a nice wallpaper for my computer.

It's great to finally add this flick to my superhero film collection. Welcome home, Diana.

Wonder Woman is a wonder

I saw Wonder Woman this past weekend and loved it a great deal. It's a superb origin story that's in the same league as the 1978 Superman. It's a wondrous, epic adventure with plenty of heart and real emotion, especially at the end. This was one of these movies that I just wanted to go on and on. But since it had to end, I want to see it again soon. Bravo to director Patty Jenkins, Gail Godot and the rest of the cast and crew. I can't wait to get this one on Blu-Ray.

Justice for all

Now that's what I'm talking about. This is the first full trailer for the Justice League movie that's coming out this November, and it looks great. And I never thought I'd say this, but Aquaman comes off looking like a real bad-ass here. (Aquaman?! Who knew?)

No sign of Superman, but the appearance of Amy Adams as Lois Lane gives me hope, and as much as I love the Flash TV series, I'm still looking forward to seeing Ezra Miller's take on the Scarlet Speedster. And Gail Godot's Wonder Woman? I'm already looking forward to her standalone movie, and now we also get to see her in this? Oh, wow....

I'm really pumped to see this one!

The new Wonder Woman trailer

They already had my money when they released the first trailer back during the summer, but this new trailer really makes me want to see the new Wonder Woman film right now! This is looking very good. Gail Godot already crushed it with her small role in Batman V. Superman. I can't wait to see her Wonder Woman take flight in her own film.

Wonder Woman is back!

This is the first trailer for the new standalone Wonder Woman film starring Gail Gadot. I used to watch (and loved) the Linda Carter Wonder Woman series as a kid, and so I'm really loving the fact that the Amazonian Princess is back in full force.

I thought Gadot's Wonder Woman was one of the best things about Batman V Superman (the other being Ben Affleck's world-weary Batman), and so I'm really looking forward to seeing WW in her own adventure.
