A young woman (Cheyenne Perez) who wants to be a screenwriter latches onto an online influencer (Grace Kaufman) to become her vehicle for success.
But when the screenwriter gets rebuffed, she goes full-on psycho and kidnaps the influncer. The trailer for Influence shows a young woman getting tied to a chair. You can see the trailer below:
The sequel to Fall is coming out this September. I think they should have called the sequel either Fall 2: Gravity Sucks, or Fall 2: Holy Shit, We're Up High! I was impressed with how the first Fall managed to get it's female cast barefoot for the better part of its runtime. Judging from the trailers mashed together here, the women keep their shoes on in the sequel, but we'll see.
The original movie starred Grace Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner star as Becky and Hunter, respectively. They're rock climbers who decide to scale an outdated communications tower so Becky can scatter the ashes of her dearly deceased husband.
Of course, the tower--which is due to be taken down--is in really bad shape. After they've climbed to the top, the tower falls apart to the point where the girls can't get back down using the ladder.
Hunter takes off one shoe and sock and stuffs her cell phone into it to cushion the blow when she throws it to the ground. There's no reception on top of the tower, but there is at the bottom. And she hopes that a pre-arranged message will be sent once her phone drops within range. However, this doesn't work.
Becky then removes both of her shoes (she wears no socks) and throws them to the ground in an effort to get the attention of a guy just walking around with his dog at the base of the tower. This doesn't work, either.
The result of all of this is that, for the rest of the film, Hunter has one bare foot, while Becky goes completely barefoot.
The barefoot goodness starts at 53 minutes.
Fall was a hard flick for me to watch, because of it's sheer intensity and the way the film expertly uses the extreme heights to add to the tension.
But the BF scenes more than made it worth climbing the tower for me. Fall is highly recommended overall.
They released a new trailer for Dune Part 3. And there's a brief sequence of a barefoot woman walking through what looks like sand....
....or is it ash?
When they pull back, we see she's walking BF through what looks like a mass execution field. Is it Alia, the sister of Paul Atreides? Alia is played by Anya Taylor-Joy. All in all, I can't wait to see this. The trailer is below:
The Strangers was a great horror film released back in 2008 that starred Liv Tyler. The movies that have followed have all been so-so at best. This is actually the opening few minutes of The Strangers Chapter 3, and it includes a bound woman. Although it's so dark I could just barely make her out. See if you have any better luck by clicking the link above.
Director Lee Cronin, who helmed the great Evil Dead Rise, has another horror film coming out in April of '26, a new version of The Mummy. The first trailer has been released, and it looks pretty intense. You can see it in the link above.
No word yet on whether this new Mummy will be as BF friendly as Evil Dead Rise was (the above picture is from EDR), but I guess we'll find out soon enough. We don't have enough of decent Mummy movies, regardless, so I'm looking forward to this one.
Steven Spielberg is back in the SF genre with his latest, Disclosure Day, a movie I didn't even know the title of until seeing the teaser trailer just a few days ago. It stars Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place 1&2) and comes out June 12, 2026. Blunt is one of my favorite actresses, and Spielberg is...well, it's Steven Spielberg directing an SF film, so I really want to see it. The teaser is very creepy, so I'm really looking forward to this.
The first trailer for the new Supergirl film is out, and it looks like it might be really good. Milly Alcock is great as Supergirl (we got a sneak peek at her at the end of Superman '25), and I'm looking forward to seeing her in her own adventure. Look out, indeed.
The first full trailer for the new Superman film has been released. I was excited about this one already, but this trailer has sent my excitement into hyperdrive. The movie comes out July 11, 2025. I can't wait for it. You can see the trailer right here.
They finally released that train-wreck bersion of Snow White last weekend, and to nobody's surprise, it didn't do very well.
I'm still waiting for the other version of Snow White, one that's being independently produced--and, judging from the trailer that's been released, she's barefoot. Does this Snow White go barefoot throughout the whole film, or is she just frolicking through the woods, sans shoes, in just this one scene? I hope we can find out soon. You can see the trailer below:
There's a new version of Nosferatu that I'm looking forward to seeing--although I don't know why this is coming out at Christmas, when it looks like the perfect movie for the Halloween season. I managed to find a barefoot shot, with her toes pointed downward as she hovers off the floor before Nosferatu. This really looks like it might be good.
There's a new movie coming out in July by writer/director Osgood Perkins called Longlegs. And the recent trailer showed a woman lying face down on the floor with her mouth gagged, as well as her arms pulled back behind her. Looks like we have a scene! It's a 'blink and you'll miss it' moment in the trailer, which you can see right here.
Perkins (the son of Anthony Perkins, of Psycho fame) also directed the marvelous The Blackcoat's Daughter, which featured some nice BF scenes but no bondage.
It looks like MaXXXine, the third and final film in director Ti West's trilogy that began with X and then Pearl, will have a scene for its lead actress, Mia Goth. The above screen cap was taken from the trailer, which you can see below:
A new trailer for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga has dropped, and I noticed a few things. Like this moment where Furiosa (Anya Taylor-Joy) is lining up a shot while barefoot.
And there's a young barefoot woman standing to the right of this shot.
And Furiosa looks like she's having a bad day, being tied to wooden stakes and all. I don't know if she's BF here, but we'll find out when the movie is released (and I can't wait). You can see the trailer below.
The Barbie movie, starring the goddess Margo Robbie, is the latest attempt by Hollywood to turn a toy line into a movie, like Transformers, The Lego Movie, and Battleship.
And--what do you know?--there are barefoot scenes in the Barbie movie!
The movie plays on the fact that the Barbie doll is designed so that she always walks on tip-toe. But Barbie, played by Margot, realizes that she's now walking flat-footed! The horrors!
This is part of several things that Barbie finds is "off" with her happy little world, which forces her to go out and seek the answers with Ken.
There's a fun scene at the beach, where Barbie shows off her flat feet to her horrified friends.
I freely admit that I had no desire to see this movie until I saw this trailer, which you can see below:
The first trailer for The Flash dropped during the Superbowl, and the movie looks like it might be very good. I have high hopes for it, based on this trailer.
It also stars Sasha Calle as a new version of Supergirl. And I like what I see so far. And she even goes barefoot.
She's broken out of a Cadmus facility, where she had been kept a barefoot prisoner. She's BF throughout this scene in the trailer. They show Calle in her Supergirl outfit later on, and she looks great. I can't wait to see her (along with Michael Keaton as Batman once more) in action.
As much as I enjoy the Marvel films, I was always far more of a DC Comics fan. I'm sorry to say that Black Adam was something of a disappointment for me (although I loved their take on Doctor Fate), and I'm hoping The Flash will be the next truly great DC movie that's in the same league as Superman ('78), The Dark Knight, Man of Steel, and The Batman ('22).
And the less said about the lead actor, the better. If you're uncomfortable about seeing this film because of him, that's fine. I understand perfectly. But consider that hundreds, if not thousands of people have worked their butts off on this movie--both cast and crew--and it would be a shame for all of their hard work to be ignored because of the actions of a single scumbag. Watch the trailer below and make up your own mind:
I've discovered on Brian's Page that there's a new horror movie called Room 203 that's opening on April 15--just a few days away, now--and it certainly looks like it might be of interest.
The bondage scenes in the trailer are extremely dark, so I had to "light up" the vidcaps. Is the damsel tied up while barefoot? I have no idea at this point, but here's hoping. I'm planning on checking this one out once it's released. You can see the first trailer below, but be warned, it's very dark---literally!
I was watching the trailer for the upcoming Nightmare Alley, the latest film directed by Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy 1 and 2, The Shape of Water), and noticed this shot. It was very quick, a 'blink and you miss it' moment. But there appears to be a bondage scene in this flick (and she's wearing shoes, darn it). You can view the trailer below.
There's a new French science fiction movie called Oxygen that will be released on Netflix in May. It's directed by Alexandre Aja, who's given us some nice BF scenes in his prior movies, like High Tension and Crawl.
There's no sign of bondage (at least not in the trailer), but the promise of the lead actress being barefoot the entire time looks pretty good (she wakes up in a cryo-chamber with her air running out).
I'll give this new movie a shot and report back with a review. I always try to support BF friendly filmmakers like Aja and Quentin Tarantino, in the hopes of encouraging them to keep making more films with BF scenes.
A new teaser trailer dropped for Halloween Kills, along with the news that the film's opening has been bumped to next year.
While I'm not happy to see this (I loved the 2018 Halloween film), given the circumstances, it's completely understandable. I'm starting to think that maybe the movie studios/theaters should just write off 2020 and push everything back to next year, just to be on the safe side. Hopefully the situation will have improved when Halloween Kills releases in October 2021.
