Jurassic World Rebirth review

Having just seen Jurassic World: Rebirth recently, I've got to say that I've enjoyed it very much. While it was a disappointment to see them drop the 'dinos taking over the world' storyline that Dominion was building up to, Rebirth was still a satisfying entry in the ongoing series (this is the seventh film!) that acknowledges the amount of time that has passed since the first film back in 1993. The Mosasaurus, one of my favorite aquatic dinosaurs, really gets its moment to shine, here.

Instead of the expected 'Planet of the Dinosaurs' storyline that I was expecting, we're given another forbidden expedition into the deep dark realm of the dinosaurs, with Scarlett Johansson in the lead, and she's one of the best things here. I knew casting her for a Jurassic World film was a good idea when I first heard about it, and she only proved my instincts right. I'm pleased to hear this did well, because that means another film is coming. Looking forward to the next one, especially if ScarJo is back. There's no BF or bondage scenes in this movie.

Jurassic World Rebirth

The first trailer for the new Jurassic World film, Rebirth, has dropped. It looks like it might be fun. I'm really looking forward to seeing ScarJo in action against some dinos. She's been a favorite of mine long before she joined the MCU.

Jurassic World Dominion

The gang from Jurassic World are back, and they brought the gang from Jurassic Park with them. Jurassic World: Dominion is supposedly the final film in the series, but I really hope it isn't, because I still need my big budget cinematic dinosaur fix every few years. The storyline this time involves genetically created, super-sized bugs that are eating up all the crops.

But the big bugs are really a plot device that's used to get the casts of both Jurassic trilogies together, and I have no complaints about that. They all work together very smoothly as one big, dino-fighting family. There's also some great scenes with the dinos--including new species--like the cowboys and dinos moment that reminds me fondly of Valley of Gwangi. While there are no BF or bondage scenes, JWD is an enjoyable popcorn movie that's still a lot of fun.

Captured Caretaker

I'm a huge fan of the Jurassic Park/World films. I've loved dinosaurs since I was a kid, and I include them in my Ryta the Jungle Girl books (I'm working on the latest book right now). Unfortunately, there's not much bondage in these flicks.

With the exception of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which has a few brief shots of actress Daniella Pineda with her hands bound behind her.

Later, she's seen handcuffed by one wrist to a raptor cage.

Pineda plays a dinosaur vet, and her skills become helpful to the villains, so they kidnap her. She becomes a forced caretaker for the captured dinosaurs.

She's soon rescued from her plight. Unfortunately, she's not barefoot during her captivity, but I still like these scenes because she's very cute, and makes for a feisty, sassy damsel.

Jurassic World Strikes Back

The folks behind the upcoming Jurassic World 3 have released this short film about dinosaurs attacking a family in a campground. It's short and sweet, and I enjoyed it.

But I liked this short more for the promise that it makes about the upcoming Jurassic World movie--that it's going to have more of a Planet of the Apes vibe in that humans will now have to share the earth with the dinosaurs.

I really like this idea, and hope that the film goes all in with it. I'm not sure if we're going to see an apocalyptic, end-of-the-world view of humanity, but we'll know soon enough. In any event, I'm looking forward to JW3.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

I managed to catch an early screening of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom late Thursday night. I enjoyed the movie a great deal. When I saw the opening scene, with the Mosasaurus (the crocodile-like dino with the fins that swims through the water), which is one of my favorite dinosaurs, I realized that this movie was going to be good. I didn't think they would have been able to get the Mosasaurus back in this one, but the fact that they did so made me very happy.

The dinosaur action is fun and very imaginative. The CGI effects were very crisp and realistic--with everything from a raging volcano to raging dinosaurs, it was all very well done. The dinosaur fan within me was pleased.

The only problem I have is that Fallen Kingdom is a little too familiar to The Lost World: Jurassic Park in terms of plot. But, it still breaks away from the "running from the dinos in the jungle" story trope in a very nice way. And the ending opens up the series in a new direction that looks pretty exciting. All in all, I liked Lost Kingdom a great deal.

There's also some bondage in the film, although it's very slight. Daniella Pineda, who plays Zia Rodriguez, is captured by the bad guys. She's standing with her arms behind her back at one point. We don't see any bonds, but the implication is pretty obvious that she's tied. Later, she's seen handcuffed with one wrist to a cage containing a dinosaur. The handcuffs on her wrist are clearly seen. A dinosaur flick with something for everybody? What's not to love?

Jurassic Terror

A babe in a bikini (well, half of a bikini) goes for a walk on a nice, secluded beach...only to find herself bound, gagged, caged, and with a dinosaur peeking in at her! What the hell, man?! The travel agent never mentioned anything about this happening! To see the Jurassic horrors in my latest Poser picture, just go here.

Jurassic World 2: AH! Run!

It certainly looks like it will be fun, and I'm glad to see that the volcano won't be the climax of the film (at least I'm hoping that's the case). But the more I see of this, the more it reminds me of The Lost World: Jurassic Park, which came out in 1997. I hope it's not a rehash, but we'll see. I'm still seeing it regardless.

And it looks like there will be some underwater dino action here. I like that, because the dinos that swim in the sea are among my all-time favorites.

Jurassic World 2 Trailer

There's this big sporting event that's being played today...I forget what it is...oh yeah, it's the Puppy Bowl. But apparently we got a new trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom during this event. And I like it better than the last trailer.

Still not too sure of what the story is (not that it really matters, because they have my money anyway), but this trailer makes it seem like its going to be much more than 'let's-rescue-the-dinosaurs-from-the-exploding-volcano' story line from the first trailer (exploding volcanoes are so 1990s, I mean, like...you know?)

But I'm seeing this regardless anyway because: DINOSAURS! And as far as the Puppy Bowl is concerned, all I have to say is: Go, Beagles!

Jurassic World 2 Electric Bugaloo

Given the trillions of dollars that Jurassic World made back in 2015, it was understandable that they would make a sequel. And don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to this one, too. But I'm just not sure about the overall plot about rescuing the dinos from the island before a volcano erupts.

The problem I have with this is, they might have just spoiled the entire movie with this trailer. Unless the volcano isn't really going to be the entire main plot of the movie. I don't know, we'll see. I love this series, and I really enjoyed Jurassic World--and this new one has Jeff Goldblum back as Malcolm ("Life finds a way.")--so I'm more than willing to give this a shot.

Jurassic World

I saw Jurassic World over the weekend. I watched it in a very crowded theater with a lot of whooping and hollering people who seemed to enjoy it just as much as I did. No bondage scenes (unless you like seeing dinosaurs in bondage--hey, no judgement here!), but it's still a fun, thrilling movie that I liked very much.

They finally bring in the Mesosaurus, the great underwater predator seen in the poster above (and I've also cast him in a few scenes in my Ryta the Jungle Girl books). Speaking of which, I'm now about two thirds of the way through the first draft of the sixth Ryta book. I'm hoping to have it ready by the end of summer, at the latest. I'll keep you posted on its progress.
