A few years back, Netflix released a fantastic version of The Haunting of Hill House, loosely based on the Shirley Jackson novel. Despite it not being a faithful adaptation of the book, it was still very good.
Directed by Mike Flanagan, this version of Hill house also has plenty of barefoot scenes.
And this makes sense, because most huanting occur late at night, when people are asleep. If they're roused by a ghostly apparition, they would be too scared to think about putting on shoes.
No bondage, but no complaints here, either.
Because, in Hill House, even some of the ghosts go barefoot.
