Thunderball

It occurred to me, with the passing of Sean Connery, that--in addition to being the original James Bond--he was the only Bond to have not one, but two BF bondage scenes in his movies.

Thunderball had the sultry Claudine Auger trussed up hand and (bare) foot on a bed aboard the Disco Volante, a private yacht owned by the villain, Emilio Largo.

Auger played Domino, Largo's girlfriend who joins Bond by trying to locate stolen nukes that Bond suspects are aboard the Disco Volante.

But in the best tradition of these stories, Domino gets caught by Largo and becomes a bound prisoner of his in one of the bedrooms of his boat.

She's rescued, but not by Bond. Instead she's set free by one of Largo's henchmen (Largo certainly has a problem with loyalty, doesn't he?). Never Say Never Again, Connery's last film as Bond was a remake of Thunderball.

I was a long-time fan of Sean Connery since first watching his James Bond films on TV as a little boy. And while his death didn't come as a shock to me, it still affected me more than the deaths of most celebrities. You can see a clip of this scene--clipped by Anubis--right here.
