Phantasm II

The Phantasm series is a great deal of fun, with Phantasm II being my favorite. Paula Irvine stars in Phantasm II as the female lead, who is first seen in this eerie moment when the guys come across her in a basement.

Although her bonds are never seen, thanks to the black cloak that she wears, it's heavily implied that she's tied down.

The nice, big criss-crossed gag that she has covering her mouth is also another good indication of her bondage. This version of her doesn't survive. This scene serves as an omen of the battle yet to come.

Later, when her character formally joins the boys in their adventure, Irvine gets captured by the Tall Man ("BOY!"). She receives an intense hand gag here.

After her capture, Irvine is wheeled through the villain's lair while strapped down to a gurney, and sporting another very nice gag.

Although she's been stripped of her coat, she's still fully dressed here.

But it's still one of the better bondage scenes for me, and one of my favorites, despite her not being barefoot. It's very stylishly done, with the danger coming from the Tall Man's minion in the background preparing to burn her alive in the crematorium (eek!).

She takes a quick moment--when he's not looking--to check out her situation, which she ultimately survives. I've got her first scene as a clip, which you can see right here.

A Cure For Wellness

Mia Goth stars in A Cure For Wellness, a very weird (but very good) movie about a very strange health spa located in the mountains.

Goth plays a girl who lives full time at the spa, and her character goes barefoot throughout the film's running time.

She was such a barefooter in this film that originally A Cure For Wellness became my very first 'Movies with Barefoot Scenes' post. I created that label just for this flick.

But there's also a mild bondage scene with Goth. She gets her wrists tied to the headboard of a bed.

Goth goes barefoot throughout the whole movie, including her bondage scene--which she survives--so this is a 'must-watch' for us. Mia Goth will be seen in the upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter.

Dawn of the Dead

Zack Synder directed this marvelous remake of Dawn of the Dead, with a script written by James Gunn, who's currently reviving the DC Comics universe.

Sarah Polley stars as Ana, a nurse who finds herself right in the middle of a zombie outbreak.

She literally wakes right up to zombies in her bedroom, which is why she didn't even have time to put on her slippers.

With the zombies pounding on the door, Ana decides it's best to get the hell out of zombie Dodge.

Because of this quick thinking, Ana goes barefoot for a good chunk of the movie, for about the first twenty minutes or so.

Although blood-splattered, Ana hasn't been bit, which is how the zombie affliction is passed on from person to person. Sarah Polley has reportedly retired from acting, which is a shame. But she's gone on to become a great film director in her own right.

Devil Rides Out

The Devil Rides Out, AKA The Devil's Bride, is one of my favorite horror movies produced by Hammer, going way back.

Released in 1968, DRO stars Cristopher Lee in a rare outing as the good guy, an expert on the occult who's battling the supernatural.

The film also stars Nike Arrighi as a young woman who becames a pawn of evil. She's being used as an unwilling puppet by the forces of darkness.

Because of their constant possession of her at any time, Nike's character can't trust herself, and so she makes a request of the hero to tie her up in a barn. And when he does so, she's barefoot when she gets tied up.

The result is one of the best BF bondage scenes in a movie that is one of the best--if not THE best--Hammer Horror films of the 1960s. Try and see the whole movie, if you can, because it's great (and scary). You can see the clip right here.

Evil Dead Rise Pt2

In Evil Dead Rise, Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland) is literally climbing the walls of the elevator that she's trapped in.

The evil demonic force, intent on possessing her, uses wires and cables from the elevator to bind Ellie's wrists.

Ellie's ankles are also bound for good measure.

All of her limbs are quickly made secure.

And, just like that, we wind up getting a barefoot bondage scene in a Evil Dead movie. All that's missing is a gag. I guess the Deadites don't mind the noise.

Later, when Ellie's eldest daughter Bridget (Gabrielle Echols) becomes possessed, she just hops right onto the kitchen counter for a (grisly) snack.

While EDR is recommended for its plenty of barefoot moments--and even a couple of BF bondage scenes--if you're not a horror fan, you might want to brace yourself, because it is extremely gory. And scary. Happy Halloween!

Evil Dead Rise Pt1

Evil Dead Rise came out of nowhere, and it was most welcome.

Originally intended to debut on the MAX (now HBO-Max, again) streaming network, Evil Dead Rise was given a theatrical release instead. Somebody at that studio must have realized what they had on their hands.

EDR also has some very nice scenes of interest for us. Starting with the opening scene with Anna-Maree Thomas as Jessica. At first the barefoot Jessica lays around on a bed, appearing to be sick, but she's actually demonically possessed.

Later in the film, single mother Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland) takes the elevator down to the laundry room, only to get attacked by the demonic spirits.

She was wearing flip-flops, but they got knocked off of her feet after she was literally tackled by this invisible force of evil.

What's interesting is that Ellie goes barefoot for the rest of the movie from this point onwards.

And there's much more to come!

Some Real Life Horror

The Halloween Season is upon us (yay!), and to celebrate, I've posted my first Halloween-themed Poser picture (with more to come during the month of October) on Deviant Art. A pair of women receive an unexpected visitor who makes a unnerving offer to them. What is it? You can find out right here.

Note: The picture I used here is from Eyes Of Crystal.
