Freya Allan stars as Mae in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, which was released last summer (and now available on streaming and physical media).
She goes barefoot for a good portion of the film's running time, about forty minutes.
And, on the surface, she appears to be just another dumb human in this world that's dominated by apes.
There are plenty of nice scenes of her riding barefoot on horseback.
I've always liked the image of a barefoot woman on horseback, which I think I might have gotten from watching the original POTA films as a kid.
Kingdom is the first film in the remake series to show humans as the scantily-clad savages that Heston and crew encountered in the original POTA. Does this mean that this film series' version of the Icarus will be crash-landing soon?
But just like in the original POTA, these humans are being hunted by the apes. Will Mae and friends escape? More to come.
