Pacific Rim was a vastly entertaining film from director Guillermo del Toro about giant monsters--known as Kaiju--and the big robots--Jaegers--that fought them.
Rinko Kikuchi stars as the assistant leader of the Jaeger team who has to fight Jaeger pilot wannabe Charlie Hunnam in a match as part of him proving his worthiness for the job.
These massive robots are piloted by a two-person team--which already sounds a bit outdated for this "futuristic" flick, given that the real-life American military is switching over to unpiloted drones.
But never mind the nit-picking, this film is still a great deal of fun, overall.
And the fact that they got Rinko to go barefoot for a scene is a nice little bonus. But, for the love of God, avoid the shitty sequel.
