The Best Movies of 2021

And here's my list of favorite movies from 2021. Hope you enjoy.

Black Widow -- This film should have been made a lot sooner than it was, but I’m still grateful to see Black Widow finally get her own adventure, and it was a good one. Yelena (the always good Florence Pugh) gets strapped to a medical table while fully dressed.

Space Sweepers -- I really enjoyed this! A fun and engaging science fiction film from South Korea about the hardscrabble adventures of a heroic spaceship crew who wind up fighting for all of humanity.

Godzilla Vs. Kong -- After Warner Brothers built up their own cinematic monster universe, this film was their end game, and it was a blast. Two monster titans meet in a film that also has some very funny moments.

Jungle Cruise -- I enjoyed this one a lot more than I thought I would. Dwayne and Emily’s chemistry reminded me of the Brendan Frasier Mummy movies in a good way. Emily Blunt shares a brief hands behind her back bondage scene with the guys (pictured), but she also has several nice barefoot scenes throughout the film.

Army of the Dead -- Zack Snyder's zombie movie set in a devastated Las Vegas is a load of fun. Plenty of intense action and gore, and--thankfully--there’s more to come in a sequel.

Malignant -- James Wan took a break from the Aquaman films to give us this batshit crazy ode to Giallo films, and I’m really glad he did. The wacky police headquarters scene alone is worth watching this movie for. Jean Louisa Kelly gets tied up in a suspended spread-eagle while fully dressed.

The Tomorrow War -- a vastly entertaining popcorn movie about humanity using time travel to recruit soldiers for a future war against aliens (and it works very nicely!). Chris Pratt holds his own against the invaders, as well as the tropes.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League -- Finally, the proper and magnificent version of Justice League has been released. Ignore the misbegotten theatrical version, because this epic film is everything that the 2017 version should have been.

The Suicide Squad -- Any film that brings back the divine Margot Robbie as the equally divine Harley Quinn is already a favorite of mine. But this sequel stands head and shoulders above the tepid 2016 film in that it's genuinely funny. And the icing on the cake is that Harley gets herself a really nice barefoot bondage scene, as well.

Dune -- The definitive cinematic version of the classic SF novel has finally been released, and this is it. It's great to see this story being treated with the respect and sophistication that it deserves. And Rebecca Ferguson gets a very nice barefoot bondage scene (with a guy).
