Dragonslayer was a 1981 movie release that dealt with a mid-sized kingdom in the Dark Ages that offered sacrifices to a dragon. The victims, all young women, are chosen by a lottery.
Yolande Palfrey stars as the unwilling sacrifice in the opening scene.
After being brought to the site chained up in a cart, she's chained to a pole. Unfortunately, she does not survive.
She's not barefoot, and nor is she gagged. But she's chained up with her wrists above her head. I'm posting these pictures here not just because of the bondage, and also because this year Dragonslayer turns 40 years old.
George R.R. Martin has stated that the Vermithrax Pejorative seen in Dragonslayer is one of the best depictions of a dragon on the big screen. I agree wholeheartedly. Even forty years later, Vermithrax Pejorative is still an awesome sight to behold.
