Raiders

Karen Allen stars in the classic Raiders of the Lost Ark--which is forty years old this year--as Marion, the lover and sidekick to Indiana Jones.

In this famous scene, Indy is snooping around the desert base of the Nazis when he comes across Marion, who's been left tied to a pole and gagged in one of the tents.

Of course, Indy--who thought Marion was dead--goes to untie her.

And Marion is, of course, more than grateful for the help.

But then Indy realizes that if he frees Marion now, that it would set off an alarm within the camp, and he can't have that right now.

And so he places the gag back into her mouth. Then he leaves her tied to the pole in the tent.

Of course, Marion is none too pleased about this! It's a great scene, and the fact that Marion's barefoot through it makes it even better for me. Happy 40th to Raiders.
