The Best Movies of 2020

Extraction (Netflix) -- Chris Hemsworth (Thor) shines in this really intense thriller about a mercenary trying to save a boy from kidnappers. This film has some fantastic stunt work that needs to be seen to be believed. No BF or bondage scenes.

The Vast of Night -- (Amazon) a very eerie and creepy science fiction/horror film that takes place over the course of one night in the late 1950s. This is a truly unsettling movie that makes alien vistation (and abduction) really scary again. Fans of the original Twilight Zone and Outer Limits should love this (I did). No BF or bondage scenes.

Mank (Netflix) -- I'm not usually a big fan of these Hollywood 'tell all' stories, but this one stars a great actor (Gary Oldman) being directed by a great director (David Fincher), and it's very well done. There's a slight bondage scene with Amanda Seyfried tied to a stake for a movie shoot. But there's also a really nice BF scene where Seyfried removes her shoes and takes a walk barefoot outside at night with Mank, who holds her heels for her.

Enola Holmes (Netflix) -- the very idea of Sherlock Holmes having a younger sister sounded silly to me. And then I saw this film, with the always great Millie Bobby Brown giving a charming performance as the youngest Holmes sibling who's off to solve her own case. Henry Cavill is also suprisingly good as Sherlock. Looking forward to the sequel. No BF or bondage scenes of note.

The Old Guard (Netflix) -- Charlize Theron proves what a great and savvy star she is with this rousing action film that deals with a group of warriors who are immortal. Some great action scenes in this fast-paced, gripping, and just all-around awesome flick. No BF scenes, but there are bondage scenes with Charlize.

Host (Shudder) -- a movie that was shot on Zoom shouldn't have been this good, nor this scary. But it was both, in spades. Just under an hour long, Host manages to be very creepy while adding to the paranoia of these pandemic days. No bondage, but a couple of the girls are barefoot, if you look hard enough.

The Beach House (Shudder) -- very unsettling movie dealing with body horror that also manages to cut a little too close for comfort, horror-wise. Very gripping and intense; this one's a real nail biter. No bondage, but plenty of BF scenes.

The Invisible Man (home video) -- this one broadsided me. The recent attempts to revive the classic Universal monsters just left me cold. But in the capable hands of writer/ director Leigh Whannell, this latest version of the IM was a masterpiece of suspense and horror. And Elizabeth Moss is great in this. No bondage, and some brief BF scenes.

Birds of Prey...Harley Quinn (home video) -- not a perfect movie (there's way too many flashbacks), but I loved this film just for giving us the always great Margot Robbie as Harley in another fast and funny adventure. And her love of a special breakfast sandwhich, while it's being made, is hysterically funny to watch. No BF scenes, but Harley gets tied to a chair, and she's not BF.

Underwater (home video) -- my all-time favorite of 2020. Kristen Steward continues to prove that she's a much better actress than those sparkly vampire flicks showed. Taking place at a drillling rig at the bottom of the ocean, Steward's character battles catastrophic failure of the submerged oil rig, along with horrors of the depths, all while going barefoot the whole time (when she's not clad in deep diving gear). Great movie all around.
