S. Darko

Here are some screencaps from S. Darko, the sequel to the amazing and mind-bending Donnie Darko.

Unfortunately, S. Darko is not as good as the original film, despite its barefoot scenes.

Daveigh Chase returns as Samantha, who is apprently suffering from the same weird affliction as her older brother in the first film.

In this scene, she wakes up right under a highway overpass and wanders the streets of a small town.

It took me several viewings of Donnie Darko before I finally "got" it (I think). But it remains a great film that's scary and fascinating at the time because it provokes a lot of thought with its strange story.

Sadly, it feels like the makers of S. Darko were the ones who didn't "get' the concept of their own movie. At least we'll always have Donnie Darko.
