Shallow Ground

In the horror movie Shallow Ground (2004) actress Natalie Avital plays a woman who gets grabbed by a killer, who pulls her under her own van.

She gets stripped of her clothing (down to just her panties) and is tied with her arms above her head to the branch of a tree. Her bare feet are left free.

She's also gagged for good measure.

It's been so long since I've seen this one (these vicaps are from my original website) that I forgot the basic story. But I do know that Miss Avital's character does not survive her encounter.

While there are other damsels in the film (and I'll get to them in later updates) Avital's scene is the best in the film.

Natalie Avital would go on to a busy career as an actress, a casting director and a film producer. She's had parts in TV shows like Dollhouse and Criminal Minds.

True Love

Happy Valentine's Day! Here's a story of a young woman who's been abducted by some bad guys. She tried to escape on her own, but is caught and tied up (all shown).

But have no fear, because her boyfriend comes to the rescue, and he...doesn't save her! The chucklehead gets knocked out, and now somebody has to rescue him, along with his still-tied girlfriend.

But that's OK (for us), because she's barefoot throughout this scene. And she goes and rescues herself, as well. The moral of this story is: Valentine's Day is bullshit, because true love doesn't need a holiday to validate it. You can see this scene right here.

The Haunting of Hill House

The Haunting of Hill House, the mini-series that was produced by Netflix, was an fascinating, revisionist take on the Shirley Jackson novel.

And it also had its fair share of BF scenes, as well.

It made sense, since most of the hauntings took place late at night in Hill House, at a time when people were more likely to be forced to get out of bed too deal with whatever ghostly occurence has just happened.

You have to go running around, checking out things, when a strange noise wakes you--and once in this panicky state, shoes are usually forgotten.

And even one of the ghosts goes barefoot whenever she walks the halls of Hill House.

Tarzan's Peril

The film Introducing Dorothy Dandridge re-creates a scene from Tarzan's Peril, featuring Halle Berry as Dorothy Dandridge. Well, here are some vidcaps from the actual Tarzan production with the real DD.

The barefoot Dorothy was bound and gagged right on-screen in Tarzan's Peril.

And this film had the same tracking shot that went up Dorothy's bound body, which the '99 biopic re-created.

Taran's Peril, released in 1951, was directed by Byron Haskin. It starred Lex Barker as Tarzan.

Tarzan's Peril would be a stepping stone for bigger movie roles for Dorothy.

The re-creation in the '99 biopic is great (it's one of my faves), but the bondage scene in the original film is also very nice, as well--although I prefer the re-creation slightly more just because it features Halle Berry in BF bondage.

Introducing Dorothy Dandridge

HBO Max is running Introducing Dorothy Dandridge right now. Released on HBO back in 1999, the biopic stars Halle Berry, who won a Golden Globe for her performance as Dorothy.

Directed by Martha Coolidge, IDD re-creates a scene from the film Tarzan's Peril, in which Dorothy stars in as a jungle queen.

And of all of the scenes in Tarzan's Peril they could have re-created, Coolidge and her team chose the moment where Dorothy's jungle queen character is rescued by Tarzan while bound and gagged in a hut.

And so we have these wonderful shots of a barefoot and bound Halle Berry struggling mightily against her bonds.

Tarzan breaks through the straw wall of the hut to come to her rescue.

Tarzan showing up also offers some more nice shots of Berry's bound feet.

The movie's scene--along with the fourth wall--is broken when the actor playing Tarzan starts having trouble cutting Halle's feet free. The director calls cut here. Released just a year before she would play Storm in the first X-Men film, Introducing Dorothy Dandridge also stars Brent Spiner--Data from Star Trek: TNG--as Dorothy's agent.

Im Schatten der Angst

Julia Koschitz stars as a shrink who must examine a man who may be a killer in Im Schatten der Angst, a TV movie that was shot in Austria.

Judging from the very tense situation she finds herself in right now, I'd say the good doctor needs a refresher course in spotting and dealing with psychopaths.

This isn't the first Austrian/German production to have a great BF bondage scene, and hopefully it won't be the last. You can see it right here.
