I've never read this book, but the cover has become one of my favorites since I first discovered it here online. Can you guess why? :)
I've often wondered if the character shown here goes barefoot on a regular basis, or just had her shoes removed when she was tied up. Yes, I think about this stuff often. I guess I need to get out more, especially while it's still nice out.
I recently posted a picture of Liv Tyler from The Lord of the Rings. Here she is in a movie called The Ledge, working in a hotel, and getting the surprise of her life when she delivers something to one of the rooms.
Stripped of her work uniform, she's trussed to a chair and gagged with a nasty looking ballgag.
She's being held hostage by her husband, played by Patrick Wilson (Aquaman, The Conjuring), who wants to teach her a little lesson. But it all backfires on him.
This is a very brief but very nice BF scene.
Thankfully, Tyler's character survives her ordeal.
There's a new horror-comedy coming out called Satantic Panic. A young woman who's working a pizza delivery job brings pizza to a group of satanists--who then want to sacrifice her (don't you hate it when that happens?).
At one point in the trailer, there are two women who are loosely chained to a table. They're not gagged, but they are barefoot!

I always liked this scene from The Evil That Men Do, an action movie from 1984 that starred Charles Bronson.
Antoinette Bower plays the sister of the film's villain, and she's been kidnapped by Bronson.
In this all-too-brief scene, she's getting trussed up on the bed by Bronson.
She was fully dressed when she was abducted, with her shoes having been removed--because, despite the fact that she's a kidnap victim, Chuck still doesn't allow shoes on the bed. Good for him.
Sondra Currie (with the red hair) stars in a movie called Kid Cop. She's surprised by robbers (one of whom is on the right in the screen capture) in her home.
Barefoot, and clad in a robe, Currie is tied to a chair by the robbers.
It's one of my favorite scenes going back to when I first saw it, but I was never able to get a decent copy of it--until now (I did not clip this).

I love this shot of Liv Tyler, in costume (except for shoes) as her Lord Of The Rings character Arwen. I like the idea that Arwen went barefoot when she was home among her fellow elves.
Amazon Prime is forging ahead with its LOTR TV series, and at first I wasn't sure if this was a good idea. But Amazon has shown that they can make some great TV series (The Man In The High Castle, Hanna, The Boys), so I'm willing to give them a chance. Besides, it's not often that we get a multi-million dollar high fantasy series on TV.
