Terminator: Genisys

In Terminator: Genisys, Emilia Clarke, who's best known for playing Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones, plays Sarah Connor, the mother of the Resistance. Sarah was originally played by Linda Hamilton in the first two Terminator movies and Terminator: Dark Fate.

In this scene, Sarah's been captured by the police after traveling through time with John Connor (played here by Jai Courtney). Since you have to travel through time in the nude (at least in the Terminator films) Sarah and John are given hospital clothes to wear when they are captured.

At first they are handcuffed with their wrists behind their backs, and you can clearly see that Sarah is barefoot throughout this scene. After staging a fight, Sarah and John are each cuffed with one wrists to the edge of their beds. But being cuffed this way enables them to escape.

Later, Sarah is cuffed with her wrists to a table in a police interrogation room, fully dressed this time. She's freed by another character. As much as I like Emilia, I wasn't crazy about this flick. Lena Headey, Emilia's co-star on Game Of Thrones, starred as Sarah Connor in the much better TV series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Kristanna Loken

Some random publicity shots of actress Kristanna Loken, whom I always liked.

I really enjoyed her performance in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.

The scenes of her literally throwing Arnold around were fun to watch. Loken and Claire Danes were the highlights of the movie for me.

I just checked her IMDB page and was pleased to see that she's still working. I hope she just keeps chugging along, sort of like how her Terminator character did.

Terminator 2

Terminator: Dark Fate opened this past weekend, and the movie wound up suffering a Dark Fate of its own: it bombed at the box office.

I haven't seen TDF yet--but I still want to, and will hold off on my own opinion regarding this flick until I see it. But all of the media hype over TDF got me thinking about T2 (a.k.a. the last really great Terminator film).

Linda Hamilton, who plays the indomitable Sarah Connor, gets tied down to a bed via medical bondage in a psychiatric hospital.

Of course, she escapes; she has to find her boy John and keep him safe from those pesky Terminators.

What's interesting is that Hamilton goes barefoot for a lengthy amount of time within T2, even after she leaves the psych hospital. A nice touch.

Terminator: Dark Fate

Terminator: Dark Fate is supposed to be the direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Linda Hamilton returns as Sarah Connor. So does Arnold.

By picking up the story line directly from T2, the Terminator saga ignores:

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (I actually liked this movie; I thought Kristanna Loken was very good as a Terminator)

Terminator: Salvation (it was interesting because it had no time travel, but it was pretty 'meh' for me)

Terminator: Genisys (despite the presence of Emilia Clarke, I didn't care for this one at all)

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (a fantastic TV series that was cancelled too soon; Lena Headey was great as Sarah)

I've been a huge fan of the Terminator cinematic series since seeing the first movie in the theater 35 years ago (has it been THAT long already?). I still enjoy watching the lesser films, so I'm more than willing to give this new one a shot.

The Terminator Genisys scenes

Back over a year ago, I mentioned that I saw Terminator: Genisys in the theater and that there were two scenes with Emilia Clarke. Clarke, who normally plays Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones, plays Sarah Connor in Terminator, the mother of the Resistance. Here are some caps from the scenes.

In this scene, she's been captured by the police after traveling through time with John Connor (played here by Jai Courtney). Since you have to travel through time nude (at least in the Terminator films) Sarah and John are given hospital clothes to wear.

I don't know if anybody has done clips of this yet.

Terminator Genisys

Well, I saw Terminator Genisys over the holiday weekend and enjoyed it very much. Emilia Clarke will never replace Linda Hamilton, IMHO, but I thought she was still very good as Sarah Connor.

And there's some barefoot bondage! Clarke gets arrested and sent to the hospital where she is kept under guard. She's wearing a hospital gown/robe and has her hands cuffed behind her back. After getting into a fight (even while cuffed) she's got one wrist recuffed to the bed itself. She's barefoot throughout this scene.

She's recaptured by the police later and has her wrists cuffed to a table--she's fully dressed this time. Nice little surprise, this really makes me want to get this on Blu-Ray now.

Terminating a new Poser artwork picture

The new Terminator film opens this weekend, and I really wanna see it. To celebrate, I've posted a Poser picture over on DA that celebrates the joys of our imminent robot overlords.

Have a great holiday weekend (for those of you who celebrate it) and I'll post a review of the new Terminator once I get to see it.

You can see the latest tribute to our robotic overlords right here.
