Stranger Things

The arguments came hot and fast regarding whether Stranger Things delivered on its ending. While that might still be up for debate, there's no argument that the third season of Stranger Things delivered with a very nice scene in the second episode called Chapter 2: The Mall Rats.

Francesca Reale plays a lifeguard who's offered as a sacrifice to the boogeyman from the Upside-Down. She's bound hand and foot with rope and is gagged with tape in this scene.

Francesca is also barefoot throughout her scene here.

It's brief, and dark (I've brightened these screenshots as much as I could) but it's very nice (she's BF!). You can see the clip right here.

Stranger Things

I finally watched the ending of Stranger Things, and I enjoyed it. While I was never a really HUGE fan of the series--it had it's highs and lows--I thought it managed to really stick the landing at the end. I also got the feeling that this might not completely be THE END, that they're leaving the door open for them to pick up the story at a much later date--and that might not be a bad thing.

Stranger Things

Season Four of Stranger Things drops this coming Friday (the 27th of May), but you can see the first eight minutes of the latest season right now. Just use the link above. At least now we know why Eleven always appeared to be the only specimen being studied at that creepy reseach facility that she was being held captive in.

I'm really looking forward to seeing season four, which has been broken up into two parts: the first dropping later this week, and the second half in July. This season begins the end of the series itself, and hopefully it will be epic.

Enola Holmes

  

Millie Bobby Brown stars as the younger sister of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes, in Enola Holmes, a film that dropped on Netflix a few days ago. Best known for her role as Eleven in Stranger Things, Brown is perfectly charming here as a teenage detective who's looking to solve the mystery of her mother's abrupt disappearance, only to get drawn into further adventure once she reaches London. 

 

While there was nothing of interest for us in the damsel in distress department, I was still pleasantly surprised at how Enola Holmes didn't turn out to be a children's film, in that it wasn't at all childish, or too cute. It's a well-done mystery/adventure film that takes its story line seriously. Well-trained in combat and the art of science and detection by her unconventional mother, Enola hits the ground running (sometimes literally). But she also breaks the fourth wall by speaking to the viewer directly, which I found to be a really nice touch.

 

Henry Cavill (The Witcher, Man of Steel) stars here as Sherlock Holmes, and he's also very good. Enola Holmes, the film, has a very welcome Nancy Drew vibe, and hopefully we can get a DID scene in a sequel (the film is based on a series of books by author Nancy Springer).  Enola Holmes is highly recommended if you're looking for a twist on the Sherlock Holmes story--one with an engaging, feisty young heroine who will stop at nothing to solve a case. I really hope they make more Enola Holmes movies.    

Godzilla King of the Monsters

I watched Godzilla King of the Monsters recently and enjoyed it very much. The movie is a faithful recreation of some of the classic Godzilla films, where he fights several different monsters, including King Ghidorah (the three-headed, winged beast that serves as the main monster villain here).

Millie Bobby Brown, from Stranger Things, co-stars in this, and she's very good. She doesn't have any super powers, but she's still very spunky and sympathetic. Vera Farminga, Kyle Chandler, and Charles Dance are also in the great cast.

The monster battles are epic and fun, with everything clearly seen on screen this time (with several battles even taking place in the daytime). The movie doesn't offer any bondage or BF scenes, but is still highly recommended as being a vastly entertaining big monster romp.

Stranger Things Delivers

The third season of Stranger Things premiered on Netflix over the July Forth Holiday, and it delivered very handsomely. It was an exciting and funny thrill ride through a 1985 that had more of terrors of the first two seasons.

But it also delivered for those of us who like BF bondage in a big way with this scene.

Stranger Things This Way Comes

This has got to be one of the best trailers I've seen recently. I'm loving seeing the characters as they grow up and face new experiences (and also new monsters from the Upside-down, from the looks of things). To say that I can't wait to see this new season is putting it very mildly.

I also loved their use of The Who's Baba O'Riley, remixed here into a soaring, epic version. Very nicely done! Here's a version of the ST:3 Baba O'Riley song that somebody has kindly presented on the Tube of U:

I really enjoyed the Godzilla remake that came out back in 2014. It was a nice updating of my favorite big movie monster, complete with him fighting a battle royale with the MUTOs (that one shot of Godzilla spewing his nuclear breath right into the throat of one of the MUTOs is still frigging awesome).

So I'm glad to see the Big G is back, but I'm also really glad to see that Millie Bobby Brown, Eleven from Stranger Things, is also here--as this teaser shows. Millie Bobby Brown taking on Godzilla? I am so there!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! I hope you're having a happy and safe Halloween today. If you're driving, then please mind the kiddies who are out trick or treating.

I finished Stranger Things 2, and loved it a great deal. It was ten times better than the first season (which is saying a lot because the first season was great), and it utilized all of the characters in a smart way, giving everybody their moment to shine. If you haven't seen Stranger Things 2 yet, give it a shot. It's highly recommended.

Stranger Things Season Two

The second season of Stranger Things 'drops' today (using that term always makes me think it fell off of a shelf). I haven't started watching it yet--but I will later tonight, after getting some basic essentials, like potato chips and dip. I loved the first season, and am really looking forward to digging into this one.

Welcome back, Stranger Things--and perfect timing too, right around Halloween.
