Happy Batman Day

Happy Batman Day. And this year it's a special one, with Batman being 85 years old, now.

These vidcaps are from an episode of Batman: The Animated Series, a true classic of its kind in many ways.

In Day of the Samurai, a first season episode of Batman: TAS, a young karate student (voiced by Julia Kato) is grabbed by a Ninja.

Having been kidnapped by the ninja from her karate school, she's barefoot throughout her captivity.

She's kept tied, as well.

But not her feet, which she uses to kick her captor at just the right time in order to help Batman.

Back when I had these 'caps on my old web site, I went through the trouble of drawing in a gag for the character when she was being held hostage at the ninja's lair.

I also drew in some bonds for her feet, too. Happy Batman Day to the Dark Knight, may he keep fighting crime for another 85 years.

Batman Day 2021

Happy Batman Day! It's celebrated on the third Saturday of September. I'm not sure why this particular day has been chosen for Batman Day, but any reason to celebrate the Dark Knight is a good enough reason enough for me.

These 'caps are from "Almost Got im!" An episode of the classic Batman: The Animated Series that first aired back in the 1990s. You can see this series now either on physical media (DVD, or Blu-Ray), or on HBO-Max.

Poison Ivy is seated at a card game with other members of the Batman's rogues' gallery, bragging about how she almost got The Batman (the other villains also share their "almost got im" tales).

Only when Poison Ivy takes on Batman, in a pumpkin patch on Halloween, she's clad in a sexy black number and is barefoot.

But despite almost getting him, Batman turns the tides on Ivy and gets her instead. But that's OK, because Ivy knows how to bounce back--after all, she got out of jail to able to tell this story, anyway. Happy Batman Day.

Hey, it's Batman Day once again (every Sept 19). To celebrate, we've got some vidcaps from an episode of Batman: The Animated Series.

These are from the episode "Batgirl Returns," where Batgirl and Catwoman team up together--only to be captured and tied up by gangsters.

The bondage is presented very well here.

And the sense of peril is nicely brought out by the shadowy surroundings. 

Of course, both Batgirl and Catwoman escape their bonds and their peril. 

 

 

Batman The Animated Series is one of the best depictions of Batman and his world--even more so than any of the live action Batman films.
