Amityville '05

Everybody knows the famous (maybe infamous is a better term) story about the haunted house on Long Island known as the Amityville Horror.

They made the first Amityville movie back in 1979, which was remade in 2005 with Melissa George and Ryan (Deadpool) Reynolds as the terrified homeowners.

As a horror film, I actually prefer the remake over the original. The real-life nonsense aside, the '05 version is just better--for me, at least.

And, of course, the '05 version has plenty of barefoot scenes with Melissa George, like this one.

Fortunately for us most haunted houses are active at night, when people are more likely to be barefoot.

In another part of the film, Rachel Nichols shows up as the babysitter for the kids in the house from hell.

Nichols does a great job at playing the type of babysitter I had as a kid. The "hot" babysitter who was way out of my league, simply because I was too young for her.

And like many of the sitters of my youth, Nichols removes her shoes and goes barefoot almost immediately when she comes over.

She gets locked in a closet by the demonic forces within the house, but survives. Babysitters are tough.
