Did you know this was Science Fiction Day? I didn't until up to just an hour ago. Let's celebrate it, shall we?
I am a huge fan of Star Trek and Star Wars, but in honor of Science Fiction Day I'd like to point out another SF property that I also love: Logan's Run. I first saw this movie as a kid in the theater, and not only did I love it, I also loved Jenny Agutter (pictured in a behind the scenes moment above), who played Jessica.
It was an impressively done movie for its time, filled with big ideas and ethical quandaries that also starred Michael York and the late great Richard Jordan. There was a TV series that followed, but it was cancelled midway through its first season. I prefer the movie, anyway. Over forty years later it still holds up as a fun flight of fancy.
