Director James Cameron, who has given us the ultimate "big Smurfs" films in Avatar and Avatar: The Way Of Water (and whose Avatar: Fire and Ash is coming out next month) produced a science fiction TV series at the turn of the century called Dark Angel.
Taking place in the far-flung future of 2019, Dark Angel features former child star Jessica Alba, who plays the lead as Max, an "enhanced" human supersoldier who's hiding out from the government in the shattered city of Seattle. Seattle, along with its outlying areas, was hit by a massive EMP burst in the past.
But in Cold Comfort, the seventh episode in the first season, it looks like the government has caught up with Max.
After being captured, her wrists are tied together in front of her with a zip tie. And her shoes are removed, leaving Max barefoot.
I like the sassy look she gives one of the guards when he warns her to not try and bite her way free of the zip tie around her wrists.
Out of its two seasons, the first season of Dark Angel is the best version, with its dark noir blend of action and dystopian cyberpunk science fiction. After this, Alba would play Sue Storm in the two Fantastic Four movies that she shot back in the 00s.
