X is a slasher film about a group of young actors who try to make a porn film under the noses of their reclusive hosts. But when the elderly hosts discover what these rotten kids are up to, all hell breaks loose.
Although released in 2022, the film has a nice 1970s vibe, and it stars Mia Goth, who went barefoot throughout A Cure For Wellness. X also has Jenna Ortega, who appeared in this before her star-making roles in Wednesday and the last two Scream movies.
Mia Goth goes barefoot in several scenes in X, with the film taking place in the warm and sultry South (although it was actually shot in New Zealand).
If you enjoy slasher films, you might like this. X is certainly offbeat enough to draw the attention of horror movie fans looking for something that's both familiar and different at the same time.
They made a prequel, called Pearl (also starring Mia Goth), and there's a sequel planned.
As a film overall, X didn't really grab me. But, if you want to take a shot at it, X is on Netflix USA this month. If nothing else, it has some nice BF scenes.
