The Crazies (2010) was a reamke of the George Romero film from the 1970s. It's about a town that's been exposed to a virus that sets off people, turning them into enraged psychos.
Radha Mitchell stars as a local country doctor who's been caught in the net of the government as being one of the infected.
She's strapped to a gurney, barefoot, at first.
It's a scary scene, especially considering the real-life battle with a virus that we've all been going through.
Later, her clothes are changed, and she's no longer BF (boo!). But the scene where Radha is left helplessly strapped to a gurney with a psycho slowly approaching her with a pitchfork is nerve-wracking.
But that's not the end of the bondage for Radha. Although she's fully dressed and wearing shoes, Radha is later tied to a chair and gagged.
The Crazies is the rare case of a remake being far superior than the original film. The original Crazies was hard to watch for me, thanks to its slow pace and preachy, condescending tone.
The 2010 The Crazies manages to be mainly a scary thriller while still managing to impart a message. It's a really nice change of pace on the zombie story. Recommended.
