Happy Halloween!

When I began this October I wasn't sure if I would be able to maintain my vigor for this enchanting holiday (because...2020, am I right?). But I soon realized that Halloween is a wondrous state of mind, and once you enter it, life becomes much more bearable and fun. 

And so I sincerely hope that you are having a very Happy Halloween today. Stay safe and content by enjoying yourself with a little 'me' time on this festively spooky day. 

Horse Ride of Horror

The Boogey Man

The Boogey Man is a horror film that's celebrating its fortieth anniversary this year. As a horror film, it's not considered to be great, or a classic, yet it can still be an engaging flick to watch on, or around, Halloween--provided you forgive TBM its flaws.

But The Boogey Man will always have a special place in my heart for having one of the best--if not THE best--barefoot bondage scene. 

Lead actress Suzanna Love--who also co-wrote the script--gets abducted and dragged across the floors of her house while bound hand and foot.

It's a quick, but very well-done sequence that shows much of Love's scantily-clad (and bound) body. 

Later, she's tied to a bed, where she's also gagged. 

Even while tied to the bed, Love struggles fiercely. It's a great scene--certainly it's one of my favorites--and you can see it right here.

Barefoot Wood Working

Taking a break from the spooky stuff for a moment to watch some home improvement videos--with this carpenter who likes to work in her bare feet. And it's not just this one; check out her other how-to videos where she also works sans shoes. If only This Old House had some barefoot female carpenters, I would have been far more enthusiastic about watching that show.

Wolf Lake

Mary Elizabeth Winstead co-starred in Wolf Lake, a one season wonder TV series about a pack of werewolves living in the suburbs of the Pacific Northwest (which makes it another good Halloween-themed entry for October).

 In the fourth episode of its first (and only) season, MEW gets captured by a nasty woman who leaves her tied up and gagged in a pantry. 

I really like how MEW is given something to drink through a hole in her gag. 

MEW is left bound barefoot for the better part of the episode.

She even makes a perky escape attempt, but is re-captured. 

She's eventually rescued, of course. MEW has gone onto a very nice film career. Unfortunately she hasn't had a scene like this in any of her films (not yet...hopefully). You can see this clip right here.

House of the Devil

 

Jocelin Donahue stars as Samantha in a horror classic from recent years, House of the Devil. It's a slow-burn horror film that steadily raises the suspense until it's unbearable. 

And that unbearable level would be the sacrificial ceremony at the end of the film, where Samantha finds herself stripped of her clothing and trussed to a make-shift altar. 

Lots of good struggling in this scene (resulting in Samantha ultimately breaking free), with Sam's lovely legs and feet on display. 

The film overall is extremely well-done, with a great cast that features Tom Noonan (Manhunter, The Monster Squad), Mary Woronov (Eating Raoul), Dee Wallace (The Hills Have Eyes).

And Jocelin Donahue is superb in the lead role. The House of the Devil is highly recommended to watch around Halloween, or any other time of the year. Just don't watch it with the lights out.    

October the Twenty Fourth

In the Lord of the Rings (the Fellowship of the Ring), Frodo awakens after a particularly nasty encounter with the ring wraiths to find himself in bed with Gandalf sitting at his side.  "You are in the house of Elrond," Gandalf tells him. "And it is ten o'clock in the morning, on October the twenty-fourth, if you want to know."

Seeing how today is October the twenty-fourth, I wanted to acknowledge this day in LOTR history. And, also, while still addressing the basic theme of this blog. For example, later in the same film, Galadriel (Cate Blanchett) goes for a long walk barefoot.

She's headed for a magical reflecting pool that predicts the (possible) future.

It's a really long walk. Galadriel should consider bringing the reflecting pool closer to her living quarters. Or maybe all of this really *is* her living quarters. These Elves and their cribs, am I right?

Hostel 2

In another entry for the Halloween season, Heather Matarazzo stars in Hostel Part II as one of the poor unfortunates who winds up a victim of the back rooms of a particular hostel located somewhere in Europe. 

She has the most extreme scene in the film: bound and gagged while hanging upside-down, completely naked, she's simply moved into place like a slab of meat.  

Some nice BF shots, though. 

This is one of these scenes that, while it's a good BF bondage scene, it's still very hard to watch all the way through. Fortunately the clip cuts off before the grisly stuff begins. You can see it right here.

King Kong (2005)

Namomi Watts stars as Ann Darrow in this remake of King Kong, directed by Peter Jackson (the Lord of the Rings). I'm tempted to say that this scene, where she's offered up as a bound (and barefoot) sacrifice to King Kong, is my favorite in the movie (and it is), but the remake is so much fun that it's recommended for its overall merits.

Hounds of Love

Ashleigh Cummings stars in Hounds of Love as Vicki, an Australian-produced horror film that's based on a true story. Here she's seen removing her shoes before entering the house of drug dealers.

The drug dealers, a husband and wife team, have a no-shoe policy in their home.   

Unfortunately the couple were posing as drug dealers in order to ensnare Vicki. This husband and wife are serial killers, and they've chosen Vicki to be their latest victim.

The wife, played by Emma Booth, sticks to the no-shoes rule in her home, even as she takes care of her new captive.

Later, when she gains the trust of her captors, Vicki tries to make her escape from their house. 

Unfortunately, Vicki is caught and tied to the bed again. Hounds of Love is a hard movie to watch, because Vicki is put through some nasty stuff. But the film becomes a testament to enduring and fighting evil, and  Ashleigh Cummings, who is also in Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries and NOS4A2, is superb in this.

Various & Sundry

Today we're looking at some famous (barefoot) women relaxing and hanging out. Here's Sandra Bullock, who, judging from this pic, looks like she would have made a good Catwoman. Meow.

Up next, lounging on a sofa sans shoes is Diane Lane, who played Superman's stepmom Martha Kent.

Next up is Emma Stone, who played Gwen Stacey, Spider-Man's girlfriend (and we seem to be developing a superhero trend, here).

And last up is Hayden Panettiere, who played a cheerleader with superpowers on Heroes (another superhero...they're everywhere, I tell you...everywhere).

Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter

Caroline Munro co-stars in Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter. This was a fun horror/adventure flick that was produced by Hammer films back in 1974.

Munro is rescued from the stocks (that's not blood, BTW, but tomatoes) by Kronos, who is on his way with his assistant to fix a vampire problem in the nearby town. 

Munro quickly joins the Vampire Hunter as his second assistant, getting caught up in a chilling mystery.

I should mention that Caroline Munro goes barefoot throughout the entire film--not putting shoes on even when she's in town.

 

So she goes BF the whole film, and there's even some bondage (the stocks scene), and this is a perfect flick to watch around Halloween (which is right now). So, we have something here for everybody (or close to it). Seriously, Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter is highly recommended overall.    

 

Midnight Fear

August West stars in Midnight Fear, a suspense/thriller where she's a hostage who at first gets hand-gagged when initially captured. 

And she's kept hand-gagged in what must be the longest hand-gag scene in all humankind. 

Even when she's tied up, August is hand-gagged. I'm not big on them myself, but if you like hand-gags, then this clip is for you. 

She also gets hogtied, after her shoes are removed. So now we've got BF bondage!

And, after she makes her escape August is forced to fight off one of her kidnappers while her bare feet are still tied! Add to that, this movie is also a good viewing choice for Halloween! There's something for everybody, here. And you can see it right here.

Not alone after all

Meeting Nat

I never really cared for Iron Man 2; I always thought it was one of the weaker films of the MCU movies. But, one major thing it has going for it was that IM2 introduced us to Black Widow, who was wonderfully played by Scarlett Johansson.

And, as if that wasn't enough, Scarlett even kicks off her shoes (starting at 52 seconds) and goes barefoot while fighting in the ring in this scene.

Ode to barefoot babysitters

They remade The Amityville Horror in 2005 (this is the remake's fifteenth anniversary). My favorite moment in the film is when Rachel Nichols shows up as the babysitter. 

Nichols plays the hot babysitter perfectly, even going barefoot the whole time she's in the house with the kids (one of whom is a very young Chloë Grace Moretz, as the clan's youngest child).

Nichols reminds me of the babysitters that I had as a kid--many of whom also went barefoot while watching me (either while at my house, or while I was at theirs). 

The Amityville remake even accurately shows the forbidden lust that I felt for many of my sitters, who were all older than me. Although, thankfully, none of my sitters were locked in the closet by angry ghosts.

Melissa George, who plays the mother of the family, also has a few BF scenes here and there in the Amityville remake.

Here she wakes up to find her husband (played by Ryan Reynolds of Deadpool fame) not in bed with her, and so she goes on a BF excursion to look for him. 

Personally, I've never believed that the story behind the Amityville Horror was true, but that didn't stop me from enjoying both film versions (the original, from 1979, as well as the 2005 remake), and a few of the multitude of Amityville sequels that were churned out.
