The Ring

One of my all-time favorite horror movies is the 2002 remake of The Ring.

The originsl Japanese version is also superb, but the American version, while still very scary (as well as being a great mystery) also has some nice barefoot moments.

The Ring was directed by Gore Verbinski, who would later go on to direct the first three Pirates of the Caribbean movies, as well as A Cure For Wellness (another favorite movie of mine, with a female character who goes BF for the whole film).

The opening scene in The Ring has Amber Tamblyn as Katie--who's barefoot throughout--slowly discovering that there's something very creepy happening in her home.

Aside from the fact that she's barefoot, the scene is a killer in terms of suspense and sheer fright.

Later in the film, Naomi Watts goes to speak with Becca (Rachael Bella), who was in the house with Katie. Becca is now in a mental hospital.

And, Becca goes barefoot while a patient there. The Ring is great for BF scenes, but it's also a very well done horror film, overall. Recommended.
