In the third season of the Battlestar Galactica reboot series, there's an episode called Unfinished Business.
Aboard the Galactica they hold what's officially called a "dance" but it's actually boxing matches.
As Adama explains within the episode, these boxing matches between the crew help to blow off steam and get rid of grudges.
When Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff) fights, she's barefoot--in fact she goes barefoot the entire time.
