In Supergirl, the 1984 film starring Helen Slater as the Girl of Steel, she lives in Argo City, which survives the destruction of Krypton.
But unlike all other incarnations of Argo City, in the 1984 film, it's shown that its citizens--including Kara--go barefoot all the time.
Argo City is presented as being this really laid-back, indoor mall with carpeted floors all over the place. It's the perfect place to go barefoot, really.
But now Kara has to go put on her superhero boots and chase after the gizmo she lost. Nobody said being a hero was easy.
