I always liked it when characters in a story (or, in this case, a comic) would keep their cool even when they were captured. It would be a way of psyching out your opponent by showing them that, even when they think they scored a huge victory, it's still no big deal, according to you.
Showing strength even in a moment of defeat is important, even if it's to remind yourself that this defeat is only fleeting, and that you will be back on top very soon.
