Waterworld

Waterworld was the 1995 Kevin Costner SF epic that takes place on a post-apocalyptic Earth that was almost completely submerged when the polar ice caps melted. It also starred Jeanne Tripplehorn and young Tina Majorino.

Tripplehorn had plenty of BF scenes aboard Costner's boat as they tried to flee the Smokers--the evil guys on jet skis. Tripplehorn and Majorino would work together again on the HBO series Big Love.

Waterworld was considered to be a big bomb at the box office and with critics.

But it's not the terrible film that it was made out to be. It had been cut down from its original three hour running time to appease the studio, who wanted a shorter film to play in theaters.

The three hour version has been released on DVD (it's where I got these vidcaps from), and it's actually pretty good. The three hour version has a more solemn tone and more backstory, which makes it a vast improvement over the theatrical version. So if you want to see Waterworld, try and score the three hour version, if you can.
