Amazonia

Back in the 1980s, I first came across the B-movie Amazonia in a video store. Thanks to the VHS tape's striking cover, seen above, I was eager to watch this. It was based on a true story of a woman, left for dead in the jungles, who's adopted by a tribe in the Amazon. But the movie itself was very clearly an exploitation film.

The actress in the film is tied to a pole and carried by the natives, like in the cover artwork--but unlike the cover, she's fully dressed.

Plus we never really get a good shot of her hanging from the pole (I suspect they might have been trying to hide the fact that it was not the lead actress but a double hanging from the pole).

Once she's adopted into the tribe, our heroine is never tied up again, but she loses her clothes. While she goes barefoot and clad only in a loincloth throughout the film, she also goes topless. I can't show you any of these scenes because of the non-nudity clause with the host of this blog.

I remember still trying to get my own copy of this film in the 1980s, just so I could get the cover. But I was young and broke (brand new VHS movies were going for $80 to a $100 each--and second hand dealers were pretty sparse). Thankfully it has since been released on the (much cheaper) DVD format.

Pacific Rim

Rinko Kikuchi stars as Mako Mori in Pacific Rim, a highly enjoyable big-monster movie from director Guillermo del Toro.

At one point in the film, Mako is asked to participate in a martial arts tryout against Raleigh Becket (Charlie Hunnam), who's looking for a new co-pilot for his Jaeger, a massive robot designed to battle big-monsters.

Mako ditches her boots and fights in her bare feet.

And she winds up being a very good fighter.

Pacific Rim is highly recommended for fans of Godzilla films. While it lacks the emotional depth of, say, The Shape of Water, Pacific Rim is just a fun ride overall with great eye candy.

The Chatty Captor

The heroine of my latest Poser picture thought being kidnapped and tied up was the worst thing to ever happen to her...until she met the chatty captor! See the horror for yourself right here.

Blade Runner 2049

In these strange times when we're all self-isolating ourselves in our homes, I can't stop thinking about Dr. Ana Stelline, the character played by actress Carla Juri in Blade Runner: 2049.

Suffering from a weakened immune system, Stelline is forced to spend her days in permanent isolation, where she creates memories for replicants (the android slave race that serves humsns in the Blade Runner universe). A nice plus of this job is that Stelline can work in her bare feet.

I also believe I've been thinking a lot about Blade Runner 2049 because it might be time for a re-watch of this masterpiece (it's one of my favorite films).

Stelline provides some nice BF moments in the film.

But if you're looking for a good movie to watch during your own self-isolation, then may I suggest Blade Runner 2049? It's a great film overall. This, along with the original Blade Runner, would make for a very nice double feature.

Cloud Atlas

Doona Bae stars in Cloud Atlas, a science fiction films from the makers of the Matrix trilogy.

Bae is a rogue clone in a futuristic (and fascist) Korea, which treats clones like sub humans with no rights.

She's captured while on the run with her boyfriend, who is presumably killed in a gunfight.

But her boyfriend returns in heroic fashion to rescue her from being executed.

Bae is barefoot throughout this sequence, and is handcuffed when she's rescued. Cloud Atlas has a different, more thoughtful tone than The Matrix films. It's very good in its own right.

Absentia

An unknown actress is being roughly tied up by her captors in video footage that's being watched by the heroine (Stana Katic) of the TV series Absentia (on Amazon Prime). The name of the episode is Nobody's Innocent.

Katic's character, an FBI agent, had also been held prisoner for several years by a serial killer in the past. The scene is on the rough side, and I don't know what happens to the damsel in the video. I don't know who clipped this (it wasn't me), but you can find it right here.

Just chillin

Here are some pictures of a barefoot Ali Larter just hanging around.

Warmer days are coming (if they're not already here for some of you).

Better days are coming, as well.

You just gotta hang in there and have faith.

No Time To Die

Thanks to the pandemic, the latest James Bond film, No Time To Die--which was originally slated to open in April, 2020--has been pushed back to the fall of this year. But a group of Bond fans made a short film featuring "James Bond" rescuing his girlfriend.

And--what do you know?--she's tied to a chair.

The Bond girl is played by Hannah Knight, and she shows off some fancy moves of her own when Bond is also captured later. It's very well done, overall. It's a nice little treat to tide over Bond fans until NTOD comes out.

Is that you, Carl?

Just when she thought she had it bad by being the victim of a home invasion, the heroine of my latest Poser picture finds herself face to face with an elemental being right out of the horror movies of old. You can see what she's dealing with right here.

Fifty Shades

Just in case you're wondering, the picture that I used for the recent "Shish-Kabob" post was from the first 50 Shades of Grey film.

Dakota Johnson, the daughter of Miami Vice's Don Johnson, stars as a woman who enters into a kinky relationship with a wealthy man.

What's frustrating about this film was how they spent the better part of it just negotiating about what they're going to do during their fun time.

When they finally do get it on, the scene itself is so strangely "meh" that it almost does nothing for me (and I doubt that's really Dakota in some shots), but at least we got SOMETHING out of this. I disliked this movie so much I never bothered to watch the sequels.

Peter Pan

The 2003 version of Peter Pan was an enjoyable flick that's fun for the entire family.

It has the infamous scene where Captain Hook (Jason Isaacs) forces Wendy (Rachel Hurd-Wood) to walk the plank.

The movie is a faithful version of the Peter Pan story, taking place within the original time period without any gimmicks.

Jason Isaacs is superb as Captain Hook. Interestingly, he also plays the part of the Darling Children's father, as well.

Out of all of the cinematic Peter Pans, this is my favorite (and not just because of this scene0.

It's a stylish adventure that holds up very well today. See it.

Performing Top Gun

A barefoot Terri Nunn performs "Take My Breath Away" with the band Berlin. This song made its debut as part of the soundtrack of Top Gun. The camerawork is a little wiggly at times, but I still enjoyed the performance--as well as the fact that the lead singer performed sans shoes.

Make it or Break It

In the second season episode (The Edge of the Worlds) of the TV series Make It Or Break It, Chelsea Hobbs plays a gymnast who's led away in handcuffs because she was cut from the team (they have a really tough coach!).

Actually, while she's been arrested right after finishing her gymnastic routine, I'm not sure why exactly she's been taken in custody (I've never seen the full episode).

But she's led away in cuffs clad in a sleek black leotard, and is barefoot to boot. This is a short scene, but still a very nice one. You can see it right here.

Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker

I've finally been able to see Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. I enjoyed this movie immensely, seeing how it was a big blast of science fiction/fantasy that arrived just when I needed it most (Disney actually released the digital version earlier than expected--it will be out on physical media on March 31).

Rey (Daisy Ridley) is my favorite character from the sequel series, and the third film has her showing off her Jedi powers in fine form (her battle with the TIE fighter was really cool). The film is a fast-paced visual feast, offering plenty of the interstellar eye-candy that one would expect from a Star Wars film. Highly recommended. And one more thing: Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Fool's Gold

Kate Hudson stars with Matthew ("All right, all right, all right!") McConaughey in Fool's Gold, a treasure hunting action/comedy with its fair share of BF scenes, such as the barefoot steward who's busy serving dinner in the background in the above screen shot.

Of course, since they're all based on a yacht, there are plenty of scenes of Kate going barefoot, too.

And Kate even wears some nice bikinis while going barefoot, too.

Kate's even barefoot during the film's climax, aboard a seaplane.

Unfortunately, despite dealing with pirates, Kate never gets tied up, but she does spend a good deal of the movie barefoot.
