Opera Part Two

My favorite scene in Opera should be obvious to those who know this blog. It's the very first scene with Cristina Marsillach, who plays an opera singer named Betty.

After having fun with a lover, she's left alone in his bedroom so he can make tea and a snack for them. This is when the killer strikes.

But he doesn't kill Betty. Instead, after he knocks her out with chloroform, he carefully gags her with tape.

And then he binds her wrists behind her back with rope.

The attention to detail within this scene--all told with quick cuts--is very well done. The viewer is given all of the information they need without sacrificing the pacing.

And as good as this classic BF bondage scene already is at this point, there's still more to come.
