Agora

Rachel Weisz stars in Agora, a movie about Hypatia, the last librarian in charge of the Great Library of Alexandria.

It's 391 AD, and back then, a teacher like Hypatia could teach in her bare feet (being located in Roman-controlled Egypt, the warm weather lent itself to going barefoot a deal deal within the city).

The movie is based on a true story, which details why Hypatia was the last librarian.

I won't give away the ending to the film, although it is based on historical fact that can be looked up separately from the film itself. But Agora is a very well done film with a great, affecting performance by Weisz. It's highly recommended for fans of historical dramas.
