The Amazing Spider-Man

I've never seen this version of the Wall-Crawler, which aired on TV back in the 1970s. Peter Parker/Spider-Man is played by Nicholas Hammond, who looks a little older than what a college student should be, but he's not bad.

Although the bad guy here uses mind control, there are no super villains from the Spider-Man rogues gallery; Spidey takes on regular crooks--sort of like the George Reeves TV version of Superman had him dealing with regular gangsters. It's a shame because Spider-Man has some cool villains in the comics (most of whom were used in the recent movies), but I guess they didn't have the budget back then.

Harvey

I usually try to keep current events off of this blog in an attempt to create a sanctuary of sorts from the more sordid news stories that keep hammering us in the media. However, given the heart-breaking situation in Texas, which is suffering from some of the worst flooding they've seen in ages, I wanted to extend my thoughts and prayers to the people there who are struggling with this devastating calamity.

But while thoughts and prayers are nice, these folks could use some real help. You can help them by making a donation through the Red Cross. If you wish to do so, just visit the link right here.

Any amount, no matter how small, will be a huge help.

Straight talk from the horn-rimmed man

One of my favorite scenes is from the first season of Heroes (remember back when this show was actually good?) in the tenth episode, titled "Six Months Ago". Nora Zehetner appears here as a woman who can manipulate people into doing whatever she wants them to do with her voice.

It's a short scene, lasting about thirty seconds at most, but Nora is barefoot and dressed in prison garb while chained up and gagged. Once the horned-rimmed man takes off her gag, Nora's character tries to get him to free her, but her powers are being neutralized by a second mutant in the room. It's a nice little scene that shows how her character had been recruited into hunting others like herself, people with superpowers.

You can watch/download the scene right here.

Unrequited Guilt

This is a short but well-done film about a young barefoot woman being held in captivity. The filmmakers try to go for a deeper meaning here, but the film still works very well either way.

This and that

I got another new Poser picture up on the Deviant Art Page. In case you're wondering if I had done this already, yes, I did. In fact, the post preceding this one was when I gave the news about my babysitter in bondage picture.

Now, I've got a new picture with two snooping beach bunnies that's up on Deviant Art. You can see that right here.

The picture you see above is an oldie but a goldie from a cool site I've found, called Barefoot Bondage. They post pics of barefoot women in bondage. There's a new set daily. You can find them right here.

And finally--last but not least--I'd like to announce that the latest Ryta The Jungle Girl book has been started by me. If this was a movie I'd say filming has begun. I'm looking to get this new book done by this coming December, if not sooner. As always, I'll keep you posted here.

New pic on DA

A boy really wants to watch the latest episode of Game of Thrones, but his babysitter won't let him. So what's a kid to do? Find out in my latest Poser picture on my Deviant Art Page, right here.

Jogging might be bad for you

Lila Pearsall takes a break during her jog by a picnic table, where she meets a strange man who turns out to be...strange. Soon she finds herself bound and gagged in his lair, with her shoes and socks having been removed.

Lila sees a sharp object with which she can cut herself free, and starts bashing her bound feet against the box upon which the sharp device rests. The scene itself is short, which is probably why the clipper (it wasn't me) let the capture scene run for a bit. The name of the film is Citrus Springs.

Brian Aldiss

Many years ago I read a fantastic science fiction/horror novel called Dracula Unbound that was written by Brian Aldiss. It was a great book that dealt with the unlikely merging of vampires and time travel, and Aldiss really made it work. I enjoyed the book immensely. His short story, Supertoys Last All Summer Long inspired the 2001 film A.I., which was directed by Steven Spielberg.

I just found out today that Brian Aldiss (who wrote 80 books in all) has passed away at the age of 92. RIP, sir, and thanks for sharing your flights of fancy with us.

Chloe the lab rat

Probably one of the more irritating shows for me on TV was Smallville, a series about Clark Kent becoming Superman without ever actually showing the Man of Steel (except in the very last five minutes of the very last episode--big whoop). But the saving grace of Smallville for me was Alison Mack, who played Chloe Sullivan.

Chloe was created by the show's producers as the close friend of Clark in his high school days. She was famous for her 'wall of weird' as well as tracking down any strange stories that was connected to the meteor shower that happened over Smallville--the very same meteor shower that brought young Kal'El to earth.

In her quest to track down all of the strange goings on, Chloe became a snoop. And you know what happens to snoops, don't you? In this scene, my favorite of many of Chloe's damsel moments, she gets turned into a lab rat by Lex Luthor's techs.

The Defenders

The Defenders is the culmination of the last several seasons of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. All four of these heroes star in The Defenders, which is their version of the big-screen superhero team-up film The Avengers. I think The Defenders is just as good, if not better than The Avengers, because it has eight hours to tell its story, giving all the characters--even the secondary ones--their moments to shine.

I just finished binge-watching this, and I loved every second of it. Having seen all of the series that came before was a big help, because the Defenders continues many of the storylines from the previous series. I'm glad it's on Netflix, because I can re-watch it whenever I want, and I've got the feeling I'll be seeing The Defenders again real soon. I also can't wait to see what's next in this universe.

The Flaming Lips

In this music video, the band The Flaming Lips warn us of the troubles of trusting monkeys...or something like that. The entire video has a blindfolded and barefoot young woman tied to a chair.

I'm not sure what the monkey is supposed to signify, if anything. Maybe this really is a cautionary tale about not trusting monkeys too much. In that case, consider this your PSA for the day. :)

GOT lightsabers?

In addition to having a spectacular battle that involved a dragon, the fourth episode of season seven of Game of Thrones also had a great sword fight between Arya and Brienne. Somebody took this sword fight and armed Arya and Brienne with lightsabers from Star Wars, and it's really very frigging cool.

Even without the lightsabers, this season of GOT has been on point with every episode so far. I'm enjoying it immensely.

Cheeps

I didn't see Chips, the movie, because it looked just as lame as the TV show that it was based on. But a poster on Brian's Page was kind enough to alert us to a very short scene from this film, featuring Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars herself), who's abducted while swimming in a pool.

It's a very short scene, but she is barefoot and also winds up having a happy ending. You can watch/download the scene right here.

Atomic Blonde

I recently saw Atomic Blonde and liked it very much. The movie stars Charlize Theron in the title role, a spy working for the British intelligence service back in 1989. I had no idea the movie would be a period film, but it works very well--being set as it was in Germany at the time of the fall of the Berlin Wall, it only added to the tension, which really helped the movie.

It was directed by one of the directors of the first John Wick, and the fight scenes and stunt sequences were simply stunning to watch. I saw this in the theater but have already pre-ordered the Blu-Ray, because I can't wait to watch it again. Charlize was fantastic. A very enjoyable film overall.

The next Ryta book

I've started working on the next Ryta the Jungle Girl book, and I'm doing it by re-reading the last one. Although I know the characters very well, I've found that reading through the last book helps to reacquaint me with some minor story lines that can be picked up in the new book.

Usually, I don't have to re-read the previous book, since I usually go from Ryta book to Ryta book, one after the other. But this time I took a break from the saga to write The Chosen Ones.

While I've been re-reading, I've kept a word doc open and have been writing some notes for the next book. So far, I've got about the first third of the new Ryta book plotted out. So I'm pleased to see the new Ryta book is on its merry way, plot-wise.

Going for a drive

Hannah Tointon gets abducted by Gemma Bissix in this episode of Hollyoaks, a long-running British soap opera. She wakes up already bound and gagged in what looks like a rental storage space.

She is sans shoes, which isn't explained, but who cares?

Hannah is then taken for a ride so Gemma can get the ransom. At least Gemma was kind enough to strap Hannah in with seatbelts. Can't be too careful, you know. You can watch/download the scene right here.

The Chosen Ones, my latest novel

Leslie McGrath thought she had it tough during her first week as a detective in the rough and tumble streets in the city of Montvale. Yet Leslie had no idea of the sheer terror she would be in for when she discovered that her sister Melanie and her nephew, Peter, have gone missing.

At first she hopes that it's just a bad cell phone connection. But as the hours stretch into a day, it becomes clear that Melanie and Peter have been abducted by a blood cult--a cult that intends to sacrifice them to its dark god.

But not if Leslie has anything to say about it.

My latest book, The Chosen Ones, is now available to read on the Kindle (and several other devices through downloadable apps). It's a horror novel about a cop going on the ultimate chase, one to save the lives of her loved ones.

You can read The Chosen Ones right here.

Note: the previously broken link has been fixed.

Strictly Speaking

One of my favorite actresses is Amber Benson from Buffy The Vampire Slayer (hard to believe that series aired twenty years ago now!). She had a starring role in a film called Strictly Sexual, which was a comedy.

In the very first scene of the film, Amber's character is seen pleasuring herself--or at least trying to until everything goes horribly wrong.

The scene--much like the whole movie--is played for laughs. It's a rare case of consensual bondage (as well as self bondage) in mainstream films. The movie itself is pretty good. You can watch/download the scene right here.
